Help with aiming/power

Here's an example of a frequent problem for me:

It says 202 yards to the pin.
My aiming circle at 100% is at 194 yards.
The little display off to the bottom left implies hitting it 100% means it lands somewhere in that circle. To me that means if I hit it 100% it will go 194 yards.
Except I hit it 108% and it only went 154 yards and just narrowly avoided a sand trap. (for this particular example,most of the time it ends up in the sand trap or rough)

This is particularly horrid on par 3's and even on rare ocasions happens on a tee shot. I was thinking it was the wind but it's been too low to have that much of an effect.

What am I reading/doing wrong here? I don't even want to play these main modes but need an accuracy boost to get some stuff in the challenge mode.

Is this happening to you during the tournament challenges? Because I had a similar problem with a couple of them. It felt like my clubs didn't have the power they normally do, and I was wondering at the time if they programmed the challenge that way. Anyway, I never bother with the shot circle. If the yardage to the pin is similar to my club distance, the first thing I do is club down. And if the shot is uphill and I have the wind in my face, I'll go two clubs -- sometimes even three, although I won't swing with 100% power in a case like that usually.

I've had some shots go way short for no particular reason as well. It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes the ball just comes out dead. I get shots from the fairway where the lie is fine and even with a tailwind, sometimes the ball just ends up 10-20 yards short even though I hit it with 100% power.

I really have no idea why this happens, but I've certainly noticed it on occasion.

It's been fine on the challenges I've tried but I've only done the ones where you need to match shots or hit a certian number of strokes. This is in the main part of career mode and it's happend both with the 3 click meter (so I know I hit it perfect) and swing stick. It mostly happens on the 2nd shot and par 3 holes. Maybe I'm just using the wrong club? I just go with whatever they give me.

This is something ive complained about for years in tiger...they show the distance of clubs as carry AND roll, when really carry is the only thing that matters. especially with irons where typically there will be no roll.

I usually make sure my aiming marker is 10 yards or so past my target and have green to work with in front, and that seems to work ok
