Great review. Was on the fence about TW10, but am probably going to make this a buy.GT - Killaike9 -

He wrote: "So individually these two announcers are good, but the problem lies in when they try to mesh together. There are times where there doesn’t seem like there is a sense of cohesion like we had with Feherty and McCord. In addition, there are times where what they say makes no sense to what happened, or is just flat out incorrect."
I wouldn't call that praise, I'd call it criticism. I'll admit I personally wouldn't call either of them "good", but it's always a matter of opinion with this stuff.Comment

Re: Back Nine Blog Review of Tiger 10
yea the meshing (or lack thereof) the incorrect calls (although to its credit occasionally the other announcer corrects the first) bother me
But what really made me turn it off was I get tired of hearing them tell me how much I suck when I'm having a tough round. It's hard enough to focus without having to listen to that chit. I also turn off the golfer reactions and voice cause I don't even b!tch that much about my game when I play in real life .
oh and nice review BTWLast edited by Klocker; 07-05-2009, 05:20 PM.Comment

Re: Back Nine Blog Review of Tiger 10
Good write-up, but I do disagree on your overall assessment of the game.
I have already stopped playing Live Tournaments since the scores to beat are way too low. People out there must be taking advantage of chipping on the green or something, so I don't even touch those tourneys. The only online mode I do like is the Play The Pros, since it actually challenges you to play against real-life scoring.
Also, the career mode has way too low of AI scores...Tiger with a four-day total score of -42 @ Torrey Pines? Anthony Kim with a -29 at Bethpage to win golf's hardest challenge, the US Open? No way. And there's no way to win any tourney when playing on Tour Pro with these AI scores.
Heck, I shot a two-day total of -6 at the PGA Championship @ Hazeltine...AND MISSED THE CUT (which was at -7)!!!
Just to see what would happen, I changed from playing on Tour Pro mode and played a round on pro. At Bethpage for the 1st FedEx Cup playoff event, I shot a 58 (-12) without using power boost or spin control. I was only ONE SHOT ahead of second place!!! And there were TWO golfers at that spot, who shot -11 59s!
Gameplay is solid...weather is cool (although is has too much of an effect on the greens)...graphics are good and I actually don't mind the commentary.
Overall - 8 out of 10.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: Back Nine Blog Review of Tiger 10
If you're within 10 shots of the leader or top 70, you should make the cut.
And the CPU scores are psychotic.
Nothing drives me crazier than having a +1 and not making the cut.
How many times does that happen in the real PGA?Comment

Re: Back Nine Blog Review of Tiger 10
Great review...but 10/10 implies perfection and the CPU scoring /rubber band AI is a major negative.
I'd give it 8/10...taking off a full 2 points due to the fact the game's career mode loses all appeal once you realise the scoring is insanely high every tournament.
If you shoot even par in very tough conditions...you shouldn't be almost last after one roundComment

As for the scoring, the rubberband AI is out of the game (it was out in 09) but the four round scores are too high.Comment
