Do we really need another Woods in golf?!

    Sigh

If his niece is anything like him then it's going to be unbearable watching golf of any kind.

Thank goodness Tiger doesn't have an old uncle or something.

How is watching an supremely talented athlete like Tiger (and possibly his niece) unbearable? I lived in Edmonton when Gretzky started his NHL career, and there's nothing that compares to witnessing prodigious talent on that level. The word "amazing" doesn't begin to describe it.

I totally agree. I feel privileged to live in a time where I've got to witness guys like Jordan, LeBron, Tiger Woods, etc., play and dominate their sports. If you've ever attempted to play golf, you know how difficult it is to master.. and my recent attempts to pick up the sport have further reinforced my respect for Tiger.

I think some people (and I'm not saying that's the case here or what SPTO is implying) are not happy unless it's a completely equal playing field.

Perennial winners are vilified for simply being better than everyone. Not sure what the specific cause is (though I have my theories), but it's odd to me.

I'd much rather watch history in the making than a rerun in the making...lol.

I would say over half the people who watch golf watch it because of Tiger. I know I do. The guy is amazing. Now if his neice is good then people may watch the LPGA more. Also could start drawing a bigger female audience which would be great for the sport.

Yeah i'm not saying I want an equal playing field. Hell, I love it when someone comes out of left field and gives Tiger a run for his money. I'm more fearful of the endless media coverage his niece will no doubt get if she's even HALF as good as her more famous uncle.

            Y'know what i'm saying?

I think sports reporting is too diversified as it is now. They need to focus on the athletes fans really care about. We should be getting hourly updates on Tiger, Favre's status, and whether or not someone is finally willing to rent their house to T.O.
