Today's tour pro tournament is dominated by +128 (yes PLUS) scores at the top of the leaderboard today.

Ok... scores of -25 and lower were bad enough, but this is rediculous.

Is EA going to stop the glitchers in these tournaments?

Stableford scoring?

I don't own the game so I don't know if that's in there, but that's the first thing I think of when I see a golf score like that.

No its the leading scores for the Online Leaderboards.

+128 from about 6/7 players. Next is about -25 or so. Some sort of glitch. Its the same on a few tournaments. Hopefully EA will sort it out pretty quick.

I just sent the Dev Team a note just in case they were not aware of this. I expect it will be fixed soon as I have heard there is a glitch that some users are exploiting to get such scores.

Thanks! I'm sure they saw it, but these things spread so quickly.

I saw one weird score when I started my round, then when I was done, the entire top 5 was this.

According to the offical Xbox forums (take the source for what it is worth) they are DQ-ing these people anyway, however they still take a spot (IE they don't move everyone else up, the "top" score will be like 7th place or something)

From Dev "We are aware of the issue and should have a fix in for it very soon. It's on the server so it should not require a patch"

now if they can just fix all the online scoring to be more like -3 to -8 per round at best, I'd be happy. :wink:

For that, all they need to do is two things:

-Put tournaments back in that cap all golfer skills at 7 (no matter what equipment boosts, etc).

-Patch chipping so that it is much less accurate than putting.

OR...reduce the distances by 20-25 yards per club AND introduce grid-less online play....and I agree to remove chipping from the green....

Capping distance is part of it, but you have to cap accuracy as well. These kids are nailing approach shots within feet of where they aim it.

When I play with 12 attributes, my aiming circle is the size of a basketball. When accuracy was capped at 7, my aiming circle was bigger than the green at times. Make it so there's simply no way you can perfectly place approach shots and these low scores will disappear.

Capping skills at 7 is like playing a totally different game. Shots aren't automatic anymore.

They already have grid-less tournaments, and that actually punishes the legitimate putters more and gives the chippers more advantage.

Why should they punish duffers like me because of idiot savants and cheaters?

What would really be cool is both a skill cap and handicap rated play.

Handicap all the players based on their golfers average score and what-not.

Yeah, I don't get all the people that want to make putting harder. On tour pro with the grid and putting meter on, putting is very difficult (very realistic).

The problem is that the kids putting up -25 scores are not putting at all.

With handicap tournaments you'd have the same problem as handicap tournaments in real life...people will inflate their scores to get a higher handicap until they play a tournament then shoot what they normally do which is far lower than their handicap.

Removing the grid is not the answer... I know a few ppl tout how they can do perfectly fine without it, but removing putt preview should suffice. Its the club distance and accuracy that needs tweaking.

The problem is, for the majority of players, you can't leave it in their hands to make it as difficult/realistic as possible (ie, tuning for shorter sweetspot, sliders, etc). The designers have to commit to a difficulty and stop allowing for easier alternatives.

PS. Whoever came up with the Full Stats costumes needs to be shot.
