Which TW game to buy?

I am not a huge golf fan, but I do enjoy popping in a Tiger Woods game into my Xbox and playing it every once in a while. I don't have a golf game for the 360 yet, so I was just wondering which next-gen Tiger Woods game did you feel was the best. Is TW10 worth the $60, or will a much cheaper one from 06 through 09 be just as good?

IMO, spend the $60.
The putting meter alone makes TW 10 the best of the bunch.

There are a couple of other sports games I could easily recommend you save some bucks and just buy the previous year's version. But not this one. TW10 is a much better game than any of the others in this series.

I still use tiger 08 on the 360.

I like it. It was the last year they had the "good" announcers. IMO.

Yes 2010 is better but not light years better and you can get 08 for next to nothing.

How could you possibly recommend another TW that has the old putting system? Putting with that system is an arcade joke, c'mon. I used it to unlock the courses this year and I easily made a ton of 20-40 foot putts without any effort or thought whatsoever. The new putting system on the other hand is extremely difficult. I regularily miss 2-3 foot putts if I'm not 100% focused.

Besides the announcers which I will agree with you, TW10 IS light years ahead of TW08 in numerous areas....

I was wondering the same thing too. I had 01, 04 and 08 for the ps2. I traded them in (mistake now realizing I got hardly nothing). I play golf occasionally (maybe once a year) for fun. I wanted a golf game for the ps3 and I am not sure if I want to pay 60 bucks for 10 or wait a little and get 09 for under 20 bucks. I just hate to spend that for TW 10 when I can still enjoy the older game. I have kept myself from buying NCAA 10 and just keep NCAA 09 this year. I tell you 60 bucks here and there add up to a lot of wasted money. What do you guys think.

I didn't want to create another thread so let me ask this on top of the OP: what is the best TW version for the XBox1? I know that Links is considered the best golf game for X1, but I disliked the constant ball cam. So which TW for X1 do you guys advise. I've only done TW on the PC and not much of that.

I always stay a year behind with the TW series.There just isn't enough new innovation to put out 60 bucks each time.

TW 10 is a great game, the only thing that kind of turns me away is how easy this game can be. Driving and short game are some of the easiest I've ever played in a golf game; nevertheless, I do struggle in the area of putting, much like I do in RL Golf.

2008 was way better. In 2010 the CPU players score totally unrealistic stupid low scores and it's impossible to beat them. Get 2008.
