How close are we to a game like this?

I was playing total pro golf 2 when a vision came to mind about the best golf game possible. Imagine being able to create a character and have him have to start off in some small tours or even amatuer golf. Then work his way up to the pga tour.

Yet the thing that really sparked my interest about this idea was lets say you upload your own personal swing to the game and then the game has a pga professional coach in the game, who actually works with you on the swing you uploaded for your character and finetunes it till it is perfect. I mean the benefits of this would be amazing both for your morale and just for your golf game.

Just that feature I thought of would create the best game ever. So tell me how close are we go getting a game like this? 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? not in our lifetime?

I am an aspiring pga tour pro so this might even help me learn a thing or two about my own game to help me reach my own goals.

yea i think you could kind of do this in Links back in the day but I doubt EA does this anytime soon since Tiger never had to play the mini tours or struggle....lol

I thought you could create your player as an amateur and have to work up through the circuits?? I only have 07 on PC.... I'll have to check it.

The only thing about the pga professional working on actual golf swings is the cost involved would be astronomical, and every golfer has to find their own instructor that they are comfortable with and trust. There are professionals out there who have such flawed views on the golf swing and what it should be, they make many players worse in the long run.

Also, about your professional aspirations...how old are you? whats your handicap? Do you want to play for a living or become a club professional. I played on a couple of mini-tours for awhile (Hooters being the most notable) and playing golf for a living is one tough business. You have to have the most sound mental game, and a very, very good game to go with it...and LOTS of money. You need a coach working with you everyday, or at bare minimum, once a week. Very few guys actually make a comfortable living playing mini-tours, trying to earn exemptions into nationwide events or enough money to play the grueling PGA Q-School ($10,000).

The most important thing tho, is the mental game, something i didnt have and never will, i blew up in small events and big events...if you have a strong mental game, and the dedication, it can be done, its a difficult road to tread tho.
