i dont know why i feel this way, but this is quite entertaining....

if the dlc does not support the career mode and the cost per coarse is $7.50 what exactly is the appeal of buying all the downloadedable coarse?

    honest question.

Maybe you should clarify yourself instead of being so smug and beating down everyone's opinions on what would be a fair price. And sorry if you think me calling you an apologist is too harsh. TBH people say much worse on here and don't get offended. I've seen your posts around here on several subjects, and yes you do come off as an EA apologist. Sorry if you don't like that, but that's just my opinion.

Now, maybe if you said what a fairer price would be than $7.50 instead of seemingly justifying it, there wouldn't be this misunderstanding. Capiche?
The misunderstanding is YOURS. I have long stated here and everywhere that $7.50/course is too much. I do not have a number in mind but $5-6/course would seem fair to me since Links 2004 offered non-licensed courses for $5-6 over 6 years ago. My comments regarding $5.99 for a fantasy course versus $3.99 for a licensed course were NOT sarcastic if you really think about it instead of looking for a way to attack me personally. Why on earth would a fantasy course cost more than a licensed course when a fantasy course does not require EA to pay a license for it as the licensed courses do? You call it "sarcasm", I call it asking a legitimate question.

Frankly, I really do not care what your opinion of me is as I can see that you waste no opportunity to attack for no legitimate reason. You cannot justify your comments, so don't try to.

Because they can be used in ALL other modes online and off other than PGA TOUR Season mode. I wish they would add this, but it did not make it this year. I used the DLC courses quite a bit in online play and especially online Season mode which will also be returning for TW11.

Interesting question... I play the heck out of the Live Tournaments in TW 10, both Dailies and Weeklies. The DLC courses were used quite frequently in these tournaments, yet I only bought one of the courses. I bought Cog Hill strictly because they offered a first week special on it for $5, plus it's one of my favorite courses. I could have afforded to buy a few of the other courses that I wanted, but I didn't on principle. I thought $7.50 was way out of scale compared to the cost of each course on the game disc. I sat out quite a few Live Tournaments in which I would have liked to have played because of this, but it was my choice. I don't regret it.

Even if the courses had been useable in the offline career mode, I still wouldn't have bought them at $7.50 each. I only play one season from start to finish in this game anyway, so they would have relatively little utility for me in that sense.

From what I'm reading about TW 11, there will be DLC course bundles offered at a bulk price. I don't know how much choice the buyer will have in buying bundles, but if I can get three courses I want as a package for $15, I'll probably buy at least one pack... maybe more. I'm anxious to see how they market this.

interesting, i was completely unaware that you could use the coarses online. im assuming the other player(s) have to have the courses as well 4 this 2 work. also what is online season mode? i am assuming thats not follow the pros or maybe it is.

i didnt read this post before i posted the other post...so from what ive gathered then..i guess online season mode is follow the pros...

but what is daily and weekly tournaments....is this any courses that the pros are playing on? is it EA sponsored tournyments?

yeah not 2 sure about bundles, bundles usually leave you in the middle some of what you want some of what you dont..usually anyhow

No, EA also sets up online Season modes for users who want such tournaments. Instead of competing against AI, you compete against others in the difficulty level you choose (Amateur or TOUR Pro). Play Against the Pros is completely separate. EA also sponsors 4 round tournaments during PGA TOUR stops each week along with Weekly and Daily Tournaments.

I thought i had read that EA would be facilitating private online tournaments this year. Will there be an option for me to set up a tourney and invite friends to post scores?

I am not sure if that capability will be in TW11.

online season mode sounds pretty interesting...have to wait in see, i dont think im really ready 4 prime time yet....ive never played on tour pro..sure i could hit the ball fairly well, but putting prolly not so much on that level(altho have never tried-better fire up 07)

so i take it then that if you do not puchase the DLCs you just cant participate in those particular tournys...

how long is season mode? ex. how many event until a champ is crowned

also do most ppl online(tour pro) attempt to play real golf or video game golf....ex. hitting shots towards shortcuts through the coarse that real golfers wouldnt even think about attempting(over a whole forest of trees)

I have asked this question twice in this forum and once in EA's forum. I would also like to know how long single player career last's (1 year, 2, 5?)

Hopefully, it's more than 5 years. It would suck having to recreate a new character after 5 seasons after you've worked your butt off earning exp points. I would guess the career could be unlimited since it takes a boatload of points to make your golfer as good as you can get them. Also 16 courses at 5 seasons is 80 tournaments. I was hoping since they have all that empty space on the season calendar , you could create a course with those on the disc and create a few tournaments yourself. Imaging playing Whistling Straits on black tees with VF greens and very slow fairways and gale force winds. Name it The World Series of Golf. That would be sweet.

It varied in TW10. Most Seasons lasted 6 weeks, then a new Season was started. Not sure what they have in store for TW11, but I would like to see one long continuous Season mode and for the events they don't have the exact course, the create a course out of the existing courses that most closely represents the course being played that week.

That would be insane. Could you imagine if you could mix courses. Imagine the course above but add in the Par 5's of Bethpage Black and the mix in the ocean side holes of Harbour Town with the winds.
