How nasty is it that Fred Couples doesn't wear socks while he plays 18 holes of golf? I can't imagine how nasty his feet are at the end of the day.
He's leading the way though with a monster -6 opening round. Tiger is playing REALLY well. He had 2 putts miss by an inch that would have put him at 6 under.

      Thats some STANKY cussword

Today TW really suprised me with his performance. I don't think any other golfer on this planet could stay away from the game as long as he did and come back and play at the level TW has performed today, especially of all places, Augusta.

You guys would probably be just as amazed as I was to find out the prices of everything.

The badges themselves for the day were just $41.

            Beer: $2.75
            Soda: $1.50
            Coffee: $1.00

The sandwiches they had were no more than $3.

Merchandise was where they get you, but since that is the only way you can get it, it is worth it...
What?! I went to the US Open in 2008, and the prices were double or triple that!

While it's impressive that Tiger played well considering the added scrutiny, I don't think the time off itself is much of a factor, since he usually skips most of the early events in normal years anyway. If there'd been no scandal, Woods would've only played 3 tourneys (WGC Match Play, Doral, Bay Hill) before the Masters.

Augusta is absolutely beautiful. Nice pics.

Anyway, considering the circumstances, Tiger played extremely well. And as Sting mentioned earlier, he missed two holes literally by an inch that would've put him in the lead(tied with Couples). Can't believe how well Tom Watson performed today too.

                  Man...

If it was possible i'd love to be buried at Augusta. That's gotta be one of the most scenic and historic golf courses in North America.

I thought Tiger played well but his short game which has never been his strength is something that'll take a bit of time to get going. If i'm Tiger i'd actually play some of the more rinky dink tournaments just to get back into the swing of things full time.

I really hope Freddy Couples and Tom Watson can keep up their great play and make a run at the Green Jacket. I dunno what it is, but i really enjoy seeing the older guys showing that golf isn't a young man's game.

They were great, couldn't have been a better place for him to return. I still can't believe how close we were able to get to him in the morning...

He pretty much got loud ovations walking up to every hole he went to.

Yea I went to the open here in Pittsburgh in 07 and the differences are unparalleled.

It's unique because you aren't buying anything name brand. You walk into the stand and your choices of beer are light, regular, or premium. Choices of soda are cola, diet cola, etc...

The prices of the actual day combined with the concessions was amazing...Now buying a couple of Masters shirts or a flag is a different story...

Just got home. Tiger -6. Westwood is blazing. Looking for Kim's score, haven't seen it yet.

The leader board is stacked with big names coming into this weekend. This is shaping up to be an epic masters.

too bad the fairytale ended so soon. I was enjoying looking at the first page of the leaderboard and seeing Fred Couples and Tom Watson up there.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
