    impossible pin locations

I encountered two ridiculously unrealistic putts today at Wentworth. Both were below the hole on a steep incline. Each time I had the speed right and just missed -- and both times the ball rolled back down the hill, leaving me longer putts than I had originally.

Sure, the greens were very fast (it was the April major), but I've never seen this in real life, not on putts that got to the hole. These have always been in this game, and there's no excuse for it. These absurd pin placements ruined a good round.

I'm renting the game right now, and I'm so frustrated that I might not buy it. Reckon I'll load up Red Dead Redemption and shoot some fellers.

It happens sometimes on tough pin locations. It's laziness by the designers and something that should be eliminated.

There are a couple holes at St Andrews that are pretty absurd, as well... it's been this way for a few years.

On some of the long putts this year, I switch to pitch and just try to get the ball near the hole. Not very realistic, but the putting is pretty wonky.

I'm really liking the game for some reason, though. It's way better than I thought it would be.

Yea, I had one today at Whistling Straights. If I recall correctly, I 6 putted.

And to clarify, I will admit I am not a good putter, but this location was ridiculous. I would barely tap it, and if I missed it would just keep rolling any direction, it was like the hole was on a plateau at a miniature golf course.

Yeah I hate the pin placements where it is either in the hole or coming right back to you 20-30 feet away.

I remember quite a few years back at the us open where super dry conditions created the same kind of situation. The usga ended up having to do something about it.

I was just about to post that. I think it was the Shaugnessy course and it was quite comedic. I don't know if it was tough pin locations or more of a case of the greenskeepers just didn't water the greens making them like a sheet of glass. I think the winner was Goosen and he was the only guy to break par.

The US Open is notorious for tough pin locations though because they seem to get an unmitigated joy in watching golfers 3 putt and end up over par. So you do get those situations on the PGA tour as well.

Yes except the USGA didn't put them in the middle of a slope.

I had a pin position like that at Sawgrass it was in the rain. Dumb!
