    Backspin/spin on Wii

Question I haven't seen answered. How do you put spin on the ball in tour mode/expert difficulty on the WII? I cant seem to find this info anywhere and it would be nice to make the ball stick on certain shots.

I believe if you hold 'B' without pointing at the floor, and then press left or right on the 'Dpad' you will see the orange circle in the middle of the ball in the lower right corner move towards the top or bottom of the ball. Move it lower to get more backspin this will also decrease your distance and move it higher on the ball to get more top spin, this will give you additional roll after your ball lands.
That's the only way I've come across anyways, hope that helps.

change to advanced plus and go to club tuner then change back to tour pro...Also the post above is talking about adjusting loft.

            Re: Backspin/spin on Wii

I opened a thread bout this, some 2-3 weeks ago, subject being along the lines of how do I know if there will be backspin or not on an approach shot.

Its seemed random to me forever wth TW, and it is the same this year.

I got virtually no response to it, one answer, who shed a little light, but he too really didn't know the answer.

I don't think there is anything we can do to impart backspin, or not impart it. It appears to be a totally random function of the code. Unlike real golf, where you can execute what you hope for. Here, we just swing, and...whatever

Sadly I got pretty much zero response to my question, thus I don't think there is an answer, be it WII, PS3 or Xbox. It either happens or it doesn't.

that being the case, it impairs significantly on planning an approach shot. It's a crap shot, and I don't know whether to play it a bit long as it will back spin, or figure on it running up hot and rolling towards the hole.

Apparently nobody has the answer, whatever the platform, and it takes away from any professional plan you can make for a shot. It is a roll of the dice, from what I have seen.

We have zero control on HOW we strike an iron shot, we have no choice as to hitting down on it--getting divot and backspin-- or sweeping it. We just hit it, and whatever happens, happens.

Given that this year is the most serious approach TW has ever had to real golf, I personally think this total 'helplessness' on approach shots, is a serious flaw in the game.

Doesn't alter the many good things about it, but it is a weakness, that any knowledgeable golfer/programmer would notice and programmers I hope would incorporate.

It's a crap shot, and it lacks seriously in how I play the game in real life. I don't just hit a shot and see where it lands, I try to put spin on it, I try to run it up, depending on the situation, the hole, the parms of the green.

We have no such choice in TW. Its pretty much a roll of the dice. This doesn't gibe with real golf. A weakness yes, but again I emphzise, the game has made great strides. This is just one of the things which need work.

Awesome reply man thanks alot! I dont understand why this critical aspect of golf isnt "in the game".
