    PGA Tour Sim

I haven't got into the tour yet, still working on my skills etc. I am wondering if it's as unrealistic as last year as far as the pro's scores. Like every tournament, tons and tons of rounds in the low 60s. I quit playing then as it's so unrealistic.

Even if I could shoot 62 every round, still would not have liked it.

Is that happening this year too to those of you have played in it?

And I sure wish you didn't play alone. Why can't you, like in real tour, play with the 1 or 2 players close to you on the leaderboard. Imagine the fun, esp if you are in top 2 or 3 on sunday. Oh well.

    Thanks

Scores are fine this year. No rubberbanding and I've played about 10 tourneys and the winning scores have all been from -11 to -17, usually in the -13 to -15 range.

Well thats good to hear. thx. Does TW play in and win every one? I liked the version before last year, where as in real life, he didn't play in every tournament. Last year seems he was in every one of them, and usually won.

There have been a couple of threads on the topic. The consensus is the scoring is much more realistic this year -- minus 15 range for CPU tourney winners.

That's why I still play Links on the PC. That game has golfers playing in their correctly slotted tee times, based to their position on the leaderboard. If you're in the top 5 going into day 4, you'll be the last to tee off that day, and will be teamed up with another tourney leader. Makes for great fun.

Actually they fixed both of those as well. Tiger has only won 1 tourney and really hasn't been a factor in any other ones. In my season I think he's like 15th (even I'm ahead of Tiger at #12) on the Fedex list and I think Goosen is #1. Maybe they programmed Tiger's domestic difficulties and fractured psyche into the game this year. Now that would be cool if they could do that.

I think I might be the only golfer who has played all 10 tourneys as everyone else has played about 7 or 8 so far. There have been no repeat winners yet on the tour so it's pretty random and you get alot of no names who contend for tourneys which is good.

Very happy with what they did this year considering how FUBAR it was in prior years. This would be the year to get a TW game if you are a strictly a career offline player. The only problem is stats are skewed in a weird way where leaders in stuff like FIR and GIR are like 90% which is way too high but it could be a result of AI golfers playing only 1 tourney and therefore it's skewed but it's still there but then again the same thing happens is other sports games where certain stats of the AI should not be included if they only play one game because it throws the leaders of those stats out of whack.

Well aside from not playing with anybody, sounds like the tour has really improved greatly. I look forward to it. Thanks for all the info.

What difficulty level do you guys use in the pga tour season for opponents scores? I played a one day tournament on expert and the winning score was 13 under for a one day tournament...a 58! I haven't played since because it was so unrealistic.

Does this take into account the US open playing conditions...I've never made it to that point in the pga season.

Im on the wii but the first tourney at Greenbrier the leader shoots -7 on Hard. But mostly shoots between -3 to -5 on other courses during 4 round events. On expert I saw scores like -8 to -11 everyday so a 58 at Greenbrier which is a a par 70 i believe is the same on the WII.
I played originally on normal where they shoot around even or a couple over everyday. I don
t think the course conditions or weather effect the scoring. I play tour pro so on hard should be pretty close to sim if the scoring average leader is around 69.

I just played through 3 days at whistling straights. I have 1 more day to go.

                  Woods leads at -13
                  Villegas 2nd at -12
                  Furyk T3 at -11
                  Weir T3 at -11
                  I'm T4 at -10
                  Lotsa guys T4....

At the bottom there's a couple golfers +1 and +2 even...

Im playing with TruAim on, random weather, skill level Pro.

I imagine Villegas or Woods will win aroun -14 to -18. I guess thats believable as the weather has been good. In another tourny I played Mike Weir won at -15, while I finished at -9.

(Considering guys would win last year with like -20's and -30's, this years version is WAY more realistic.)

Good game this year, love TruAim.
