Shot an 89 last Friday at a pretty difficult course, for my first round of the season, I was quite pleased. I had a lesson yesterday too, and I was hitting my irons much purer at the range. So I was expecting good things this morning for a quick 9 holes at an easy course, too bad I shot a 49. Cruel game. Good thing it's only April or that might have annoyed me.

The shaft was the Project X Evenflow Riptide CB 5.5 (regular) flex and 50 grams.
They reshafted it and I asked for a slightly heavier shaft in 60 grams, same flex.
Their customer service is top notch.

For me it never fails. A great range session equals a bad day on the course.Shot an 89 last Friday at a pretty difficult course, for my first round of the season, I was quite pleased. Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
One of my better rounds of the last couple years was at Sheep Ranch. I was a little banged up from the night before. Went to the range. Boned two 54° wedges, thought I'd be able to find the face of an 8 iron, boned two of them. Hit one drive how I liked to see it. Then headed to the shop to get more coffee.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Surgery went well. Just a bit sore. Going to take it easy for a while.
Hopefully our building gets done within next week or so and I can start on getting it set up.Joshua:

How did you like the Sheep Ranch? That's the only one I haven't played at Bandon (wasn't there when last I was in Oregon). One of my better rounds of the last couple years was at Sheep Ranch. I see the evening entertainment options in Bandon have not multiplied since I was there LOL. Hit the sauce hard, go to sleep, rally in the AM for tee time, repeat.
Glad to hear that! Looking forward to hearing you back out on the course when you're ready.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Sheep Ranch might be the most fun course on the complex. Nice little walk. Easiest on the property. A great track for the afternoon of a 36 hole day for the groups who do that. Great views on it. One of my favorite opening holes, as well as #16 being a top five par 3 I've ever played. How did you like the Sheep Ranch? Nah, everything still shuts down around 11-11:30. Which coming from EST wasn't the worst, cause we we not quite adjusted to the time change. But we played some solid team games and money games, so we got after it heavy as soon as the round was done, but all had relatively early nights, knowing what was coming the next day.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Technique/technical question for you guys, but according to how you "feel" when you swing a golf club, how many of you guys feel like you're swinging the club (downswing specifically) with your arms, vs some people talk about 'rotating' the club down with their body?
I ask because looking at my swing on video, it's clear that I'm not rotating enough through impact, and I definitely feel like my downswing is 70-80% actively swinging my arms down (vs rotating my body), but if I try to use my arms/hands less and rotate more, I just never feel like I have any control over the clubhead (and I can't get any clubhead speed that way).
I'm not looking for anyone to magically fix my golf swing on the interwebs, just wondering how you guys 'feel' when you're swinging the club.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Finally shot even par on my home course for the first time in a couple years. Started on the back nine and was +3 with a single 3 putt on 17 from 20 ft (ugh) Started the front nine going -3 on the first 5 holes. Managed to par out for a 71.
2 key shots were a flipped over wedge on hole 15 from beside the water to 12 ft and then after hitting a tree on hole 4 (par 5 500 yds) off the tee I nutted a 3 wood to 145 yards and lofted a high 9 iron to 8 ft.
Felt really good!!Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
My Arccos data after 10 rounds:

Ended up taking the 4 hybrid and the 6 iron out of the bag as the lofts were redundant from what’s already in here. My 7 iron is 27.5 (LOL)

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Gotta grip the club right. That’s what keeps club head where it should be.. right from the start. Try to feel downswing start in the bottom of your feet and unwind what you just wound up. When u address the ball just turn hips towards target and nothing else. That’s pretty much where you should be at when u strike the ball. WAY EASIER SAID THAN DONE. Someone told me that once and it made sense, still not very good golfer thoughTechnique/technical question for you guys, but according to how you "feel" when you swing a golf club, how many of you guys feel like you're swinging the club (downswing specifically) with your arms, vs some people talk about 'rotating' the club down with their body?

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Honestly my only swing thought is to "exit left" with hands. If I don't turn through with body it's hard to do.Technique/technical question for you guys, but according to how you "feel" when you swing a golf club, how many of you guys feel like you're swinging the club (downswing specifically) with your arms, vs some people talk about 'rotating' the club down with their body?

So it's basically a feel vs real.. thought.
