TW11 - Tour Weather
Next patch are we going to see a change in weather conditions when it's put on Random ? Jeezus, I put the game back in the case and pop back in NHL because I'm playing with 18+ mph sideways winds and rain on every other day. It's ridiculous. Is there a fix other than finishing the season and changing the weather to real or waiting on a patch(hopefully)?Tags: None -
Re: TW11 - Tour Weather
If you are talking about the simulated tour, this is what I do, select real weather, then before you start your round, unplug the ethernet cable. It will be callm, if its like 2010 tw. i haven't tried it yet on 2011
Since its not connected, it cannot detect the live weather. Random obviously is a very bad choice, glad to know that. I will choose live, and unplug the cable.Worked last year.
I too think their handling of weather is a bit over the top, so thats how I dealt with it. I hope it works for 2011 also. One gets tired of playing golf in gale force winds. -
Re: TW11 - Tour Weather
I don't know if random is all that bad. I've played 3 tournaments on the PGA schedule and one was sunny throughout, one was rainy on 1 day and one was rainy one full day and started raining on the last few holes on Sunday (I really liked that...the change within the round). Of all those, I only had one day that was really windy and gusty.
I've enjoyed random weather, personally. Maybe if it goes on and rain/wind is as consistently prevalent as it is for the OP, I might change my mind. No issues on my end yet, though.Comment

Re: TW11 - Tour Weather
To me the point is that EA seems to think that all tournaments are played in semi-hurricane conditions. They have never had a grasp on the simple fact that many tourneys are played in mild winds of 3-8 mph, some are actually played with NO WIND.
They seem hung up on wind, and it has baffled me from the get go. And that is why I disconnect my network, to even the playing field. I don't know why any programmer who knows golf as well as these folks must, think that most tournaments, most rounds, are played in 20 mph winds. Sorry, just don't get it.
I will not play a tournament in constant 20mph winds, because that just doesn't happen very often. Can't be hard to fix, but they've done it for years, and show no signs of reality.Comment

Re: TW11 - Tour Weather
i do agree with jkeef...seems that only way they know how to make it challenging is to up the weather conditions ...not make the course harder from a golf point of view.Comment
