True aim view at St. Andrews (IRL)

I was watching the telecast lastnight and I couldnt believe it, true aim. They were showing Mcelroy, Glover, and Tim clark teeing off at 17. There it was an almost exact view we get in TWG. It was a red line following the ball (live not replay) however, and at the last second it switched to the fairway view ( Camera looked like it was from behind the green looking back into the fairway). Even Van Pelt made a comment. " Wow guys, did you bring a new camera view". I am sure this will get used alot more over the weekend.

I wish that there was an *option* in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 to switch to this fairway camera at the last second, while using True-Aim's camera. I'd rather see the shot to completion from the other end, especially after the ball has disappeared from my golfer's eyes.

      Man, I would LOVE that.

Like if you play on TourPro, you cant affect any spin on the air anyway.... Why not add this feature? Instead of staring at my feet and the bottom of a bunker... flash to a camera view where I can see my ball land, like the "replay" when you hit "X" on the 360.

They have this in the Wii and PC version's as part of the "True View" option (which is very True-Aim-esque). The PC version's handling of this with its True View is preferable to me because it will show anywhere from the last 15 to 5% of travel of the shot, whereas the Wii version only shows a still shot of the ball after it comes to rest. Unfortunately, that's one of the few things I really like about the PC version (called "Tiger Woods Online").

Lots of folks are asking for this view-switch in True Aim. I think they will either patch it in, or it's going to be addressed on TW12.

          Lovin' True Aim, though!

It would be nice to have an option for this, however, there is a certain charm to the camera staying from the view of your golfer during the shot. This is especially true on drives into the fairway, where you can see the ball curving and its trajectory. So it would be nice to have an option for this, or some other stuff in the regular game that isn't in true view mode, however, the way the view stays put in true view swing during the shot has kind of grown on me. It's certainly a new dynamic to Woods 11, but since it's true view, the true view stays in first person view after you hit the ball, thus simulating the view you have as a golfer. It'd be nice to have more options with the camera in true view, but nothing about the way the camera works in true view bothers me. there is something i like about seeing the curve of the ball from the vantage point of the golfer.

I like seeing exactly how the winds affects your shots, and True Aim is king for this. As a result, I play much better in the wind than I did previous years (though I'd love to see more calm days than wind days on the Season/Tour mode, please EA).

Yup. Exactly. And the thing is I think the way the camera works on true view kind of keeps you focused more than in past years. Yeah sometimes when you had the camera following the ball, it felt more arcadey. (especially if you turn on the post-shot spin in the regular version of the game) And to your point, you definitely can observe how the wind affects the ball much better from the vantage point of the golfer.

Although the ball is sometimes unviewable until it comes to a stop, it kind of adds a subtle level of suspense to each shot. I do like how although the camera doesnt move or change, it does zoom-in during the shot. It's great eye candy.

Yes, it certainly restores the element of suspense and randomness back to golf, doesn't it? After each hit, you pray for some applause, and to see and hear the little sound and FIR or GIR indicator pop up LOL.
