Guys, a little help? Question on driving distance IRL and TW11.

So my created golfer in TW11 has a power rating of 70 right now, and my carry distance with the big dog is 279.

My question is, what is 'realistic' for a pro, in real life? Should I keep it at 70, or do these guys regularly hit further than my golfer's average drive of around 270, with a long of 360 or so?

Just looking for a paradigm of what a top 50 touring pro drives for an average...thanks!!!

Well Dan, of the Top 50 drivers of the golf ball on the PGA Tour, they all average over 290 yards per drive. From personal experience, I would say average amount of roll (depending on ball flight) is probably around 12-15 yards. So in order to achieve that I would say you are about right on the money.

Thanks Starlin! I was figuring I might be in the right ballpark right now with my rating. It would seem that if I were to max out the power, I'd be over-driving a lot of fairways, or clubbing down to 3W or 3I for my tee shots LOL. But I just couldn't recall where realistic driving distance for a pro ends and Happy Gilmore begins (400 yds). LOL

Avg carry distance is around 265-273 and they get around 20-25 yards for an average of 287 i believe. Obviously lots of the top guys hit it longer and the guys you see on Sunday striping it and getting 30-40 yards of roll hit it farther as well. Very fast fairways replicate what the roll is like on tour. I would say carry distance of 300 and 320 total is about the top end average for someone like Dustin Johnson/Watson/Holmes on average. They can probably really fly it 320 but not all the time. Tiger/Phil really only get about 290 yards of carry when they go after it on a flat elevation and no wind, its just the wind/elevation and fairway conditions that get them and alot of pros out there when they hit it straight.

Maybe I'll go see if there is PGA site where I can look at their stats...now I'm getting curious about other things like what their driving accuracy, GIR, etc are LOL.

Just for some info........i created Phil Mickelson as my player and im trying to make him mimick his real life specs. Ive got him set at a 80 Swing Speed and the Power Boost bar has disappered from My Skills for me. But Im using the Callaway Diablo driver (i think, its the $10,000 one, its the one he used at the 2010 Masters) and with all that playing on Tour Pro, it says my driver hits 309yds.

My created golfer uses Diablo driver, woods and irons. LOL Love 'em. IRL, I got a Diable 3 iron that I can't wait to take to the range, it was used and only 30.00.
