I work at GameStop and I had a guy come in today and asked for the newest Tiger Woods game. I told him about 12 and all the features, The Masters, etc. He seemed really excited and said he heard his buddies talking about getting it. I asked if he wanted to reserve it and he said no. He just wanted 11. Used. EA games require the Online Pass and I told him he'd need one to play online (which is why he was buying it). He said don't worry about it, he'll get it new. Literally, 2 minutes later he came back and return it. He said "it doesn't have the instruction manual." I know this seems pretty random, but why would you put a guy through all that hassle for absolutely nothing? I guess I'm looking for some sympathy, I don't know.

I don't get it. You said once you told him he needed an online pass he bought 11 new and it was missing the instruction manual. I would want the instruction manual too if I bought a new game because of the online code. So what's the issue? And even if he bought 11 used I would still want the instruction manual just so I see what the controls are. I thought Gamestop won't take trade ins without a manual.

No they don't require manuals when trading it but if there are no manuals when I buy used..I don't buy it.

In any case I would have retuned the new game also if it had no manual.

Um I'm not a rocket scientist but if the guy took the book out for the online code and was trying to get his money back because he already had a used copy in the car or at home....lol

Thankfully many criminals are stupid.

Well, sometimes consumers ARE idiots, lol, but this one definitely was not. Unless you're saying he literally told the consumer he was an idiot? In that case I'd fire him honestly.
