They also indicated that the DLC courses will be less than $10 each, which was the most they have cost in the past.
When they said less than $10, that means they will be $8 or $9 each which would be a complete ripoff. They are trying to sell the career mode aspect to jack up the price but will neglect to tell you that for 80% of the courses they can only be used every 4 or 5 years in PGA season mode.
Even at $5 a course, that's another $100 to pour into this game. I think EA has been out of touch with their DLC prices for all there games for years now but, obviously they get some schmucks to pay otherwise they would have adjusted their prices by now. I think $10 for 5 courses would be very reasonable. That would make it $40 for all 20, which is still a lot to pay after the original $60, but is a reasonable deal IMO. Thanks to tax refunds, I stocked up on $60 worth of MS points and I really hope that is enough for all the DLC minus the fantasy courses.
The only thing that's got me considering buying DLC is the $25 credit from Amazon. I'd like to get Blackwolf Run, since it's another "local" course here in Wisconsin (aside from Whistling Straits) and maybe a couple of others.
If I didn't have $25 credit to buy some MS points with, I'd not even consider getting any DLC.

What do you mean by this? You can only use them in Career Mode? That's not right, is it?
Hey tide, I bet EA spends a lot more time analyzing their profit margins than they do working on game features, so I think they have a VERY firm understanding of their DLC market. Like you said (contradicting yourself) they are getting plenty of people (you called them Schmucks) to pay for the courses.
Why would EA sell courses for $2 ??? That's ludicrous.
They would be leaving TONS of money on the table. Remember, their goal is NOT to give you stuff at low margins, their goal is to MAKE MONEY. There's nothing wrong with that.

Well, I do think something is wrong with it and, I do think that anyone who pays over $5 for each course is a schmuck. That's my opinion and you don't have to agree with it.

$8 or $9 each? Don't think so. Have not checked the PSN, but all DLC courses are available on the XBL Marketplace:
Most courses are 320 points ($4) with 2 courses at 560 ($7) (Els Club and Greek Isles which i believe appear every year in your career)
There's also a Birdie Pack at 1200 points ($15 or $3 each) with 5 courses
and a Eagle Pack at 2800 points ($35 or $2.70 each) with the other 13 courses.
No sign yet of Turnberrry or Bethpage yet as those were tied to PS3/360 preorders.
The bundles are VERY reasonable IMO and the individual courses at $4.00 each are as well. Best to get the new courses in a bundle though, but they do give you choices.
If you are getting all the DLC would be cheaper to buy the Regular Edition and then buy the 2 packs as opposed to buying the Collectors and the 2 packs?
