I was noticing the same thing with Whistling Straits this morning in round 1 of my tournament. The winds were blowing at 20+ mph making it extremely difficult to hit fairways. I scratched and clawed to get to -1 and Els puts up a -5 to lead the tournament. Unbelievable how anyone could shoot a -5 in those conditions...

I've played over a hundred rounds now, and won a Ryder Cup. Golfer skills are up to where I want them to be (mid-upper 70's) so I decided to try another round on this damn Greek Isles course.

My goal was to play safe, play for pars.

Nope...still kicked my *** for over a +20...and AGAIN that waterfall hole I could NOT stick a shot on the green and exceeded the shot limit.

Good news is that I birdied two holes LOL

I doubt I'll be playing that course again. Even The Predator is PLAYABLE, Greek Isles is just sadistic.

Greek Isles is the devil unless you have a boosted golfer or playing it with one of the better golfers in the game.

You can score at Greek Isles. You need at least 90 power from the blacks. The front nine, with 90 power, has probably 4-5 birdie holes. If you've noticed, the greens are very flat. A player with 70-80 power CAN NOT get around this course to score. Its physically impossible.

You must configure your bag and utilize the punch shot whenever possible.

My main problem is the back nine par 3's. They can take a decent round and flush it down the drain. The Spartan green nearly impossible to hit.

Hmm..interesting posts dave731 and monkigrass. Maybe I'll do a play now using Tiger or Phil and see what difference it makes.

And if I can make that damn waterfall par 3 green LOL. Otherwise, that's 11 strokes right there.
