PLS help me understand this swing %

The last tiger woods i played was 07. i still own it. i love the arcade-like features when your heart pounds and the screen goes letterbox on a great shot...but i digress...

i gave 12 a shot and i am adjusting to everything except understanding the trick to tempering your shot.

so say to make the perfect shot i have to swing at 66% or whatever...

how do i gauge that? am i missing something? it seems like its best approximation based on the full range of the swing, that you need to just "figure out" where 66% is out of 100%.

am i missing some handy gauge or skill to help me do this? im tired of needing to hit the ball with 45% power and going to 60% and hitting people in the gallery. although, its funny when they fall over.

Click the right stick to practice your swing before shots.

Yes. When you swing, it shows you what percentage you swung at. It does this for practice and regular swings (though obviously if you are trying to gauge it, you want to check it in practice swing first).

FYI, the controller vibrates when you are near the correct percentage on your practice swings. I try to find the vibration first then get my percentage close to that.

im playing on the PRO setting and this isnt happening. ive nailed the exact % a few times in practice, and 1-2% in the shot and never got a vibration. this must be on a higher difficulty setting.

Maybe. I'm on Tour-Pro and it's always been there. Maybe try checking the options for it.

does anyone know what to click on the "move" to take a practice swing?

If you have the Nav controller or DS3 you can click down on the analog stick (left one for DS3). For the Move, I think you have to press the T or trigger button two times very quickly.
