What swing type are you using?

Just got the game tonight. I'm having trouble learning how the Trueswing method.
Right now I'm using three click because that's what I'm familiar with on previous games.

Do most of you guys use the Trueswing, horizontal or vertical? Do people still use the three click or should I practice the trueswing method to get better shots?

I use true swing vertical. I haven't played golf on the PC in a while until TW 2004, but last game was Front Page Sports: Golf, which introduced (I think) the true swing idea. Once you get used to it the true swing is great. Makes it so you need to learn the feel of the swing, especially if you need to hit a little bit less power than normal. It's a great feeling when you hit a club 70-75% and get it right near the hole. I feel more in control with true swing, whether it be good or bad, than I do with three click.

yea I guess it takes practice. I just can't tell how far it's going to go with TrueSwing,
and I always overshoot the green. If I ease up, I come up short. This is a great game though.

part of that is paying attention to how far your club can go, vs the distance to the pin. It is kinda tough to hit half a club at times, but that's true in real life. I also recommend buying a SW and a LW, that should make the short game a bit easier. I was having a hell of a time hitting my PW only 60-70 yards...I could bump and run, but I like to have a club closer to the distance necessary

yea you'r right. I just played about 3 rounds practicing true swing.
I'm getting the hang of it now, I like it much better. This game rocks I bought this and NHL 2004 two days ago and I haven't even installed NHL yet I've been liking this game so much.

I tried using TruSwing vertical, but just could not hit the ball straight to save my life. I think I finished like +12 for the round. I switched to TruSwing horizontal, and I am hitting much better. I beat John Daly in the Tour up four holes. I hit like 85%~90% of my balls true now. If it gets to easy this way, I'll go back to vertical, and that will make it challenging again.

Oh...one thing I did notice...TW04 PC is a whole different beast than TW04 consoles. I actually like having to choose how much spin and power before the swing rather than during it, or during ball flight. Why couldn't they implement the same thing on the console? I have both because I like to play the console with friends or when I go away for the weekend. Otherwise, it is PC version.
