I stopped reading right there. It's obvious the guy has no idea what he's talking about. He already had it in his mind that he wouldn't like the game. This guy doesn't know anything about golf if he has not been "terribly" impressed with Links on the PC.

I could care less what any of the reviewers say. I will buy this game and most definitely enjoy it. I just can't believe that the physics would be off considering they have been doing this game on the PC for the last 8 or 9 years. I think these reviewers have been playing too much Tiger Woods.

Exactly. This guy is a contradictory fool. He claims that he has no idea what the ball is going to do when it leaves his club yet also says the game lacks difficulty?

Makes no sense.

I'm not convinced Links will be a good game, but EGM consistently is a pile of sh*t. So I'm considering the source and will keep a very open mind about this game.

Okay let me put it another way and this is why I dislike the unlocking modes of TW.

If in Madden you choose a team, let's say the Bucs. However when you started all the ratings were very low and you had to play season after season just to get tham at a comparable level. Now many games probably wouldn't like.

I just think they only way they can get people to keep playing is by having all this unlocking stuff.

I wouldn't have such a problem if you unlocked things but didn't start with very low ratings and you can't hit a drive 240.

And I'm not trying to convince you if you like the game that's all that counts. I don't like it because I play golf frequently and am a low handicapper, I don't like the fact that I could probably play better than the video game character on the first few levels.

Sounds like he's describing Tiger Woods on the consoles.

Like Jrod said, I'd give up a few golf courses and maybe some of the presentation just so I'd have a golf game that gave me realistic results. I think Tiger Woods is a fun game, but averaging a hole in one per round and hitting wedges into 600 yard par fives just doesn't feel like golf to me.

I completely agree with you and JRod in some respects. What I'm doing is going through once, maxing the character out, etc. so that I can complete it 100%. Then I'm going to keep a new character with relatively low attributes so that I can have competetive tournaments. Using draws and fades, turning off aids, etc. makes the game much more difficult than if you just go through and max yourself out. Once again, I think there is room in the game for those that love to unlock and score in the 50s, as well as those that want a more realistic experience. I really hope Links is good. That's all the better for us video hackers. And JRod, I'm assuming that you (like me) would prefer a bad day on the real course than a good day of video golf any day.

I have to say I'm disgusted with the review. First off their knocks on the game stem from it not being Tiger Woods.

Their legitamite claims like putting too easy and lack of features doesn't seem to measure up to their distain that they can't customize their golfer. What a load of bullocks. Another case of EA marketing doing the trick in setting the standards for overhyped features. The Cyber face feature of tiger doesn't make me play it more.

I think this is a poor review and one that seem that EGM sets their standards for review by comparing it to feature lists of EA Sports.
