I was never a fan of the gameplay in the PC series, and I'm not terribly impressed with it in this console version, either. If anything, the game lacks difficulty.

I stopped reading right there. It's obvious the guy has no idea what he's talking about. He already had it in his mind that he wouldn't like the game. This guy doesn't know anything about golf if he has not been "terribly" impressed with Links on the PC.

I could care less what any of the reviewers say. I will buy this game and most definitely enjoy it. I just can't believe that the physics would be off considering they have been doing this game on the PC for the last 8 or 9 years. I think these reviewers have been playing too much Tiger Woods.

I've played just about every incarnation of Links on the PC. In fact, I've played just about every golf game on the PC and console. I tend to agree with what the other guy said. Links is a nice game, but honestly, I was never all that impressed with it. Whenever I played Links, it always felt fake to me, like I was playing on a postcard. The graphics have always been beautiful, but I never got into the gameplay. As I've said in other threads, I like PGA Championship. I haven't played the new Tiger Woods on the PC yet. I'm just trying to point out that not every one who doesn't like Links is a TW [censored you naughty boy].

True, when I was playing Links I also never got the feeling that I was "there". But nonetheless, I'm confused as how the physics can possibly be bad.

Well I don't know what you guys expect. I would take the post card feel with a challenging game rather than the "there" feeling and shooting 55 every time I tee it up.

I think Links on the whole kills Tiger for the PC from tee to tee. But once you get outside that Links doesn't know what it wants to be. It also lookins like Links is losing the ability to get licenses for good courses. A few years ago they had many big name courses but now they are getting "resort" courses. Those are the ones that are nice if you have $150 to throw down on a green fee and understand that these aren't too memerable.
I still think there's a market for a game that let's you qualify for the tour and play out an entire season, with real majors and the ability to qualify for special tournaments, like the Ryder Cup and Tour Championship. To add, you get season play wher ethe play you created of inherited gets better of worse depending on how you play. I don't see that happening anytime soon but Tiger to me still feels like work to play. EA Sports loves to make you play the game by forcing you to unlock the game. Instead of making a really great game where the gameplay draws you back not the "special cards" or advancing levels.

Anyway Links will be online so that might be a lot of fun considering you don't need to have a mouse and a computer to play.

I'm not sure which game you're talking about, but it doesn't really matter. Every one of the golf games on the market can be mastered. If you think you can't shoot a 55 on Links, you're wrong. If you figure out ways to get around the system, you can shoot low in every video golf game, whether it's console or PC.

JRod, it also seems like you're always trying to convince people that TW is bad because you unlock things. Have you ever considered that some people might like that? When I sit down in my recliner, sometimes I just want to shoot well and unlock things. Sometimes I want more realism, so I change settings on TW or go play PGA or Links. People play games for different reasons. Every one of the golf games has good and bad points. Beyond that, as with anything else, it all comes down to personal preference. I don't know why people feel the need to tell others what that preference should be.

There's room in the video golf world for everyone, even us unlockers.

Exactly. This guy is a contradictory fool. He claims that he has no idea what the ball is going to do when it leaves his club yet also says the game lacks difficulty?

                              Makes no sense.

I'm not convinced Links will be a good game, but EGM consistently is a pile of sh*t. So I'm considering the source and will keep a very open mind about this game.

                              Take care,
