Hey all I just need help understanding why this new swing mechanic is any better, because It seems like you can do the same kind of swings a last years game. And is there a way to take it off the screen?

Tournament difficulty disables it outright, (and makes you go totally by feel, which is NOT easy to gauge distance with!) but there's probably a sub-option that turns it off as well.

thanks for the reply, so does anyone know how much different this new mechanic is? It feels the same as 12 but with the plane, although the swings look better.

I went through the options today to customize it and I didn't see an option to turn it off.

I have to say, the options menu is one place where the series has really taken a step back this year. Compared to last year, the options menu is extremely bare.

If by swing plane you mean the arc meter thingy, you could turn that off/on in the demo independent of the other difficulty settings.
