Where's the Flag Stick???!!

why is it that sometimes I can't see the flag pole. This is adding strokes to my game because sometimes all you can see is the hole and not the flag stick. This can happen at any time, from the tee, from the fairway etc. , the flag is just not visible.

Is this is a glitch?

If you're on PS3, when you're aiming you can hit L3 to change the view. One view zooms in on the green so you can see the flagstick better on longer approach shots.
