10 to 13?
Hey guys, so the last Tiger Woods game I bought was 10 and I mean I had a lot of fun with it but with 13 enabling the kinnect feature this year really caught my eye. Is it worth to get Tiger Woods 13 or wait for next year? It's been three years since I have gotten a new one so any advice would be great thanks.B'sTags: None -

Re: 10 to 13?
I'm an old school controller and couch gamer, but so far TW13 (Xbox 360) is one of the best golf games I've ever played, period. The new swing mechanics make all the difference IMO. The game is all about setting up your shot and then executing your shot, and that's what I love about the game. Just my two cents of course. How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.Comment

Re: 10 to 13?
If you just want it for Kinect, you'll probably end up disappointed. The Kinect integration is decent but not great by any means.
If you will also be playing with a controller though, it is well worth the money. It's the best version of Tiger Woods this generation by far.Comment

However, I realized that I wasn't as far back as I needed to be and re-played it with the Kinect and it's not terrible.
Not perfect, absolutely not ... I hate how the drives are almost always straight (this is an issue with the controller as well) but the sensation of making a 10-15ft. putt (or longer) with the kinect is pretty freaking awesome.
I don't understand why the Kinect integration is getting bashed so bad, it's not that bad at all. One down fall is the fact that it does take quite a bit longer to play through the Kinect than a normal controller.Comment

Re: 10 to 13?
You basically just stated my biggest issue with it. The fact that it takes forever to play a round.
Also, the UI is kind of wonky at times. When we were playing, we found ourselves triggering various things without meaning to. It got pretty frustrating at times.
I said overall that it's decent but not great. I didn't say it was bad, just that if all you were buying it for was Kinect, you'd probably be a bit disappointed.Comment

Re: 10 to 13?
The last one I played was TW11 on 360, which I loved, especially the True-Aim. I find this one, however, has an incredible "feel" game. I am VERY glad I took the dive on the Collector's Edition. I got the PS3 version, since I intend to get the Move for it. But even playing with the controller feels great!
It's no NBA 2K12, but it's definitely a step in the right direction for golf gaming.
EDIT: If you're readily prone to frustration, you may want to check it out first. It's definitely more challenging than TW11. But I haven't tried it on the Easy settings.Last edited by radiofrog; 04-29-2012, 09:49 AM.Comment
