What does it mean to 'Master' a course?

I've read about it and seen it, but don't quite get it.

Just looking at the "Course Mastery" for Wolf Creek GC it looks like it could take a while to unlock these courses.

Heres an example of the objectives
    SILVER OBJECTIVES

    4 Under Par
4 or less Hazards in a rd
    30 Career FIRs
    40 Career GIRs
    10 Career One Puts
    50 Career Pars or Better
    2 Career Eagles or Better

    GOLD OBJECTIVES

    6 Under Par rd
    Hazard Free rd
    60 Career FIRs
    80 Career GIRs
    20 Career One Putts
    100 Career Pars or Better
    30 Career Eagles or Better
    5 Career Eagles or Better

I guess one could go down to the lowest level and get there a lot quicker. If someone plays on Tour Pro/Tournament Level they will be in for a long grind which I would like if I where to take this route.

Looks like to all the Mastery Course unlocks have the same requirement for every course.

On Am or Pro.... It can be done in 6 rounds if you play well... The 100 birdies is the reason, you usually unlock the rest of them and this is the last one....

If you "Master" the course, you get a boost pack and if you used coins to "rent" the rounds, once you master it, you have the course for good....

So in order for me to master a course, I have to play it.

In order for me to play a DLC course, I need to rent time on it.

In order for me to rent time on it, I need to earn coins.

        Is that correct?

So whats the best way to unlock all the courses without spending real money? Assuming you need about 6 rounds on the easiest settings to "master" a course, so you need enough coins to get the 6 rounds. But in mastering the course, can you expect to pull in a good enough amount of coins to immediately turn around and go master another one? Or are you better off just trying to save up enough coins to buy unlimited rounds on each?

I'm on PS3. I get around 650 coins per round, so if you "rent" six rounds at a DLC course, you can expect to get around 3,900 coins in those six rounds. Others may disagree, but I found that playing my career and country club tournaments with the courses that came with the game (I bought the Collector's Edition) was better than renting courses. If you join a country club, you get a 1,000 coin bonus every time you play the game three days in a row, even if you only play one hole just to keep the streak going. Plus, if you play well enough, you can get a weekly coin bonus for ranking high in your country club. Once you get to 75,000 coins, you can download the five-course pack. Or you can download them one at a time for 18,000 each. I think that's a better strategy than renting rounds and trying to unlock the course, but others may disagree.

Do you have to play one of the daily or weekly tournaments sponsored by your CC to gain those coins, or does simply playing your career count as a day towards that 3 days in a row bonus?

You can play anything in the game... you just need to contribute at least 1 point of status per day....

Forget going to the lowest level, just tee off from the red tees, that will help you get the objectives faster. I play on tournament level and refuse to play on anything else.

650? Really? Which level are you playing on? Are coins like XP in that you get more coins on the higher difficulties?

Never mind. I just realized I was getting about 600 coins per round as well. Seemed like I was getting much fewer.
