Re: Offical OS Links Tourney #3

my round was all over the place....had two bogies by chipping over and back on the greens (pure touch, i assure you) and i blew several makeable putts as well....i hit the ball close on exactly 4 holes, one a tap-in birdie, and three for eagle , which is the only reason i finagled a -8

    NYJets37,
i kinda know your pain, once i had a shot on 18 from inside 50 yards, so i switched to a flop shot, but negelected to change the club down to L-Wedge, and i ended up launching the approach OVER the clubhouse, ball was just bouncing around out there like it was looking for parking

Shot a +1. I was all over the place myself, made no putts at all. Also had a strange drive where it went straight, but hit off of something and disappeared OB. That was a nice end to the round.

59 points? damn... I really need to get more skill points to help me compete. I have less then half of that.

-9 for the 1st round. Pretty happy, although I missed several makeable putts. No bogies the whole round though, which is a first for me.

If anyone's curious, my character currently has 59pts.

A 60pt character at -12, 59pt character at -9. Guess I should be pretty damn happy my little 34pt guy is swinging with the big dogs.

Actually, there isn't THAT big of a difference. I've been shooting around -10 on average since around point 25-30 or so. The extra points will just save you a stroke here or there, you're not going to all of a sudden shoot -20 with a maxed out character, the strokes just aren't there for the taking, especially in difficult pin conditions and high winds.

i was about goign to say the same thing, after about 25ish on the skill points, the only real difference in adding skill points is to power, as you seem to et about 3 yards additional per skill point....but really, ive been playing about the same since the 20's on skill points (im at 37 now), and most times the only "advantage" the extra distance gives me is it enables me to hit it further out of bounds ...which, it is my claim, by hitting these shots so errantly, im merely checking that the graphical detail reamins consistent 500 miles from the fairway LOL

1 under with 19 SP including a 4 putt/3 putt on 1-2 to start the round (easy little putts as well as some missed gimme birdies later on).

Switching between tournaments witt Intermediate and Advanced guy seems to be throwing me off.

anyone try using different Character motions (under My Player)?

Very different visual cues especially for putting. Ben brings the putter back fast and long whereby if I use Sergio's motions they are shorter and a completely different experience (with advanced since the backstroke is the only cue).
