It's better because it's a 10x better representation of the game of golf itself. The ball reacts properly when it strikes an object, wind and elevation cause major problems, and pin positions can make even par's hard to get on some courses. If you play golf, then you'd never be able to play TW again after playing links. However, if you don't play golf you might think that TW is ok.

I play golf all the time, and I still enjoy TW for what it is, an arcade game. No video golf game will ever truly mirror real life, so games shouldn't be played expecting that. I just play both for what they are, fun representations of the game.

I play golf, and specifically didn't buy Links because when I play on my xbox, I want to be able to do better than I actually do on the course. I want to be able to compete with the big boys and not have to suffer the frustrations and problems that will go along with a golf "sim" like Links. If I want the headaches I'll grab my clubs and play for real.
