It's better because it's a 10x better representation of the game of golf itself. The ball reacts properly when it strikes an object, wind and elevation cause major problems, and pin positions can make even par's hard to get on some courses. If you play golf, then you'd never be able to play TW again after playing links. However, if you don't play golf you might think that TW is ok.

I play golf all the time, and I still enjoy TW for what it is, an arcade game. No video golf game will ever truly mirror real life, so games shouldn't be played expecting that. I just play both for what they are, fun representations of the game.

I play golf, and specifically didn't buy Links because when I play on my xbox, I want to be able to do better than I actually do on the course. I want to be able to compete with the big boys and not have to suffer the frustrations and problems that will go along with a golf "sim" like Links. If I want the headaches I'll grab my clubs and play for real.

Well unless you average 5 under, you're going to do better in Links than you would on the real course. However, if you'd rather shoot -18 than -5, then you're right, Tiger is the better choice.

Honestly i have no idea what you guys are talking about...all you have to do on tiger woods 2004 is turn off every "aid" (like the spin feature and power boost, etc.) other than wind meter and putting grid and you will shoot reasonable numbers. I am in the 10th tournament of my season and my scoring average is a 71...now if you dont think thats realistic you dont know a damn thing about golf.

That is you, my friend. That doesn't mean everyone else on the face of the earth plays the same way. I've tried turning off the aids, it's still fairly easy. TW just doesn't do it for me anymore, it's too "arcadey", I want realism.

Except that still doesn't fix problems with enviromental realism. For example, if I hit a tree in Links, several things might happen:

                        a) hit the trunk, and my ball will reflect at the angle hit.
                        b) hit a top branch, and slow it down but not stop it
                        c) completely stop it, dropping it to the ground.

In tiger, the trees aren't modeled like that. Even if you miss them it will sometimes register that you hit them, and there's no real modeling of where you hit on the tree.

I've played Tiger 04 for about an hour and it seemed pretty cool, but I have yet to try Links out. Any suggestions would be great.

its your own decision but i think you will have more fun with Tiger Woods PGA Tour especially when you build your own character because you have to build up your attributes and you can get sponsorships from Oakley and Ping and other companies.
