    Re: The LPGA Thread

With the COVID-19 Coronavirus putting a temporary halt on the LPGA 2020 season, I thought this would be a good time to showcase some of the great players on the tour.

I have chosen one of my favorite players. She is one of the most consistent players on the LPGA Tour and is one of the most approachable. She is always happy to sign anything put in front of her, or take a picture with you. There is no “diva” in this lady and she is always wearing a smile. My choice is So Yeon Ryu (pronounced as ‘So-Yun-You’).

      Re: The LPGA Thread

After several changes to the 2020 schedule due to the Corona Virus, the LPGA is scheduled to resume its season on July 23rd in Ohio. Resume you ask? Yes, although it now seems like a lifetime ago, the LPGA actually did play four tournaments earlier this year.

We knew the LPGA would restart the season in ohio. What we didn't know is that it would be with a brand new tournament at the famed Inverness Club.

My heart breaks for Lydia Ko. A par 5 would have won, and she double-bogeyed to lose by 1. I hope she can bounce back from that.

You have to wonder what long term affect this will have on her career.

I have been asked many times how the LPGA constructs their field lists every week.
In most cases they use the LPGA Priority List.

Here is the brand new 2021 LPGA Priority List (with a brief explanation of how they put their weekly fields together).

How good are the 2021 LPGA rookies?

How do they stack up when compared to previous years?

Feel bad for Lexi but she crumpled a bit under the pressure on the back. Painful to watch.

That said, it's not like she's the only one - Hogan, Watson, Palmer, and many others have been suffocated on the back 9 at Olympic over the years, so she's in good company. It happens.
