After a two week break the LPGA resumes its schedule this week with the playing of the Bank of Hope Founders Cup. This will be the first of 3 consecutive tournaments that will be played on the west coast of the United States, and will include the year's first major championship.

Hi Tony,

I have two questions for you.

During the 2010 Safeway Classic, Juli Inkster was called for a rules violation. What happened was she used a doughnut mechanism as a practice aid during the tournament. However, Rule 14-3 in the U.S. Golf Association’s rulebook states a golfer can not use any sort of practice aid during a round of golf.

As a result, she was disqualified from the tournament. Do you know she was only three strokes off the lead and at the age of 50, she would have been the oldest winner in LPGA Tour History. Absolutely incredible.

My questions to you are this:

Do you think the punishment fit the crime (pardon my cliche)?

Without this mishap, do you honestly think she would have won?

This week the LPGA moves to the state of California for the playing of the Kia Classic. Eun-Hee Ji will be trying to defend the title she won last year when she fired a final round sixty-seven to win by two strokes over Cristie Kerr and Lizette Salas.
