Rotating Majors this time in TW14?

My question is if the Majors will rotate this year?

There was a thread last year that they did, but I had the same for 3 seasons(I got all the DLC courses). Celtic(which is not a major course, at least could of used birkdale or andrews), Valhalla and Kiawah. I am on the PS3 so maybe only Xbox had it. The list here makes it sound like they can, or it was just wishful thinking:

Copied this from another thread, but the guy was looking for something else with this.

Tiger Woods 14 PGA Tour Schedule

    January
    1. Farmers Insurance Open - Torrey Pines
    2. Waste Management - TPC Scottsdale (DLC)
    Febuary
    3. Pebble Beach Pro Am - Pebble Beach / Spyglass
    4. Honda Classic - PGA National
    March
    5. World Golf Championship - TPC Blue Monster (hist)
    April
    7. Texas Open – TPC San Antonio (DLC)
    8. Masters – Augusta
    9. Zurich Classic - TPC Louisiana
    May
    10. Players Championship – TPC Sawgrass
    11. Crown Plaza Invitational – Colonial Country Club (DLC)
    12. Memorial Invitational – Murfield
    June
    13. U.S. Open – Pinehurst #2 (2014) / Pebble Beach / Bethpage Black (Pre-Order) / Oakmont
    14. Travelers Championship – TPC River Highands (DLC)
    July
    15. British Open – St. Andrews / Royal Troon / Royal Birkdale
    August
    16. PGA Championship – Oak Hill C.C 2013 / Vahalla 2014 / Atlantic Athletic Club 2011 / Kiawah Island 2012 / Whistling Straits 2015 (pre-order)
    17. Deutsche Open – TPC Boston (DLC)
    September
    18. BMW Championship – Crooked Stick 2012
    19. Tour Championship – East Lake

Ashford Pines Golf Club (front 9)

    Full version release June 2016

Challenging course without the cheap gimmicks.

I think this post from Sean Wilson (Ea Dev) answers your question with a Yes....

These courses will have events at the following Majors in Career and/or the new Quick Tournaments feature (some of these are DLC):

    The Masters:
    Augusta National
    Augusta National 1934

    U.S. Open Championship
    Colonial
    Bethpage
    Oakmont
    Pebble Beach
    Pinehurst
    Pinehurst Restored
    Torrey Pines

    The Open Championship
    Saint Andrews
    Royal Birkdale
    Royal Troon

    PGA Championship
    Oak Hill
    Atlanta Athletic Club
    Crooked Stick
    Kiawah Island
    PGA National
    Whistling Straits
    Valhalla

Basically if we have a course that actually hosted the major, or will in the future, it will have that event in game. Some courses have hosted multiple major types over the years (Pebble for example has hosted a PGA Championship and multiple U.S. Opens). We could only support one major type per course, so in those cases we went with the major that course was more known for.

Thanks for the reply Stormjr. Great news if that is the case.

I wondered why they have all the courses for majors and not use them. The setup posted be the dev makes perfect sense. Gives us variety and only challenging courses for the majors.

If the game is indeed much harder I can't see not picking it up. Only gripe would be not able to unlock the DLC on my PS3 again. If they bundle all the DLC in a pack and not make us pay $5 each for courses I would get it on pre-order. However I bet some will be locked for a while like last year on other pre-order bonus courses. Certainly wish they would do away with the fantasy courses, or at least make them the ones to buy individually.

There won't be any more earning DLC courses by playing unfortunately. The DLC courses are looking to average about $2.50 each, not $5.00. I also hate fantasy courses as well and wish they would offer them completely separate from the licensed courses.

Was it confirmed that the DLC courses have dropped in price to average $2.50? If they did then I am now okay with them dropping earning courses. I loved the challange of earning courses but I will not pay $4.00 to $5.00 for a course. Please post a link if the Devs saif this.

Re: Rotating Majors this time in TW14?

I have seen posts from users on the EA Tiger forums that course packs are being offered along with pre-orders for $10 for the TPC Four pack and 39.99 for a pack of 14 courses. If you buy the courses individually, I do believe they will be higher in per unit costs, but you can get courses pretty cheaply this year if those price/packages are correct. The Devs have not yet commented on this topic, however.

Re: Rotating Majors this time in TW14?

I really wish they would just put this information out and not trickle it out. There is alot of resentment of not being able to earn the courses. I'm still playing TW13 mostly because I'm trying to master the courses and complete the sponsership levels. Take away the mastery of the courses and I don't think that sponser acheivements are enough for the solo career.

Re: Rotating Majors this time in TW14?

I posted this on the EA forums as well but no one had an opinion or thought about it. The way the list works out, you may only want the TPC pack for $10. Those courses can and would be used in offline career.

If you have to have all the courses the $40 option for the remaining 14 makes sense(assuming you already have the historic edition and 6 extra courses it gives).

However if you only want the courses for playing offline career, getting the TPC pack for 10, and buying the other 4
                1. Bethpage Black (PreOrder from Amazon)
                2. Pinehurst No 2 OLD (PreOrder from GameStop)
                3. Whistling Straits (PreOrder from Walmart)
                4. Colonial CC
that will be used individually might be cheaper. Saves you the trouble of paying for fantasy courses.

The remaining ones if you go by the list 13-18 are real courses, but not used in real PGA events.

                13. Wolf Creek
                14. Blackwolf
                15. Banff
                16. Costa Navarino
                17. Els Club
                18. Celtic Manor

Right now it's up in the air until these packs, options and individual prices are confirmed. Wouldn't put it past them to jack up the price on the pre-order ones to $8 to counter you trying to save a few bucks.
