I started playing "simulation" difficulty to get used to everything at max difficulty. I will say that I think the current settings with "very hard" swing, no fade strike meter, and allowing zoom outs to be a perfect sweet spot. Still can't read greens, which frustrates me as it was always my best part of game in LinksLS.

But, I think the CC settings give me a fighting chance to shoot around par if I get a little more used to everything. This is a lot of fun, I can see me playing this game a lot.

Anyone using the chat function?

I would like to use the Chat function while playing if others are on doing the daily or something. would make it fun.

So if I understand this correctly in Country Club Tour we are placed into different categories based on llast weeks rankings in our own CC. So i'm playing in 2nd highest category "Pro". 4 round tournament with changing settings, 1st round is with completely arcade. Everybody shooting -23 or -22, I managed only -19. I made one par which is apparently suicide with these settings, took me 7 holes until I realized that I can use putt preview lol.

Pretty good idea, I was looking for more online 4 round tournaments but i'm not having fun with these settings though...

I'm enjoying the challenge this year. Its certainly something that's been missing from this game. However the depth of field on the putting camera is blurred more than previous years. So with no putting grid its makes it tough to really read the green if you're anything more than 10 feet out.

For whatever its worth I'd like to see us keep the grid without beads, since I noticed some single day tourney's were gridless.

Not sure how others feel about this.

Well, i think i finally turned a corner last night. I shot 3 consecutive under par rounds. I made my first cut on a Web.com event (finished t3) and an 8 under after 2 rounds of the 4 day CC tournament after firing a -7 2nd round at TPC Louisiana.

My golfer has now reached level 80 and i hope to get to level 85 by tonight. I still can't reach many par 5's in 2 unless i'm playing them way down wind, so i'm hopeful i'll be able to make more birdies once my power increases a bit more. I've already maxed it out to 85 and will now work on putting, recovery, etc skills.

One thing that i did that may help other folks is i completely overhauled my bag. I am now playing with stiff shafts, a longer golf ball with more spin, and clubs that are much better.

Don't get so focused on increasing your golfers skill and forget about equipment upgrades!

I don't mind having the grid. But I really like the challenge of no grid, and I am by no means a great putter. I just think it's more even as far as putting goes, it's all about what you see. That grid REALLY helps add distance when your put is 12" up.

As I've always said my vote is: zoom to aim, and wind mph. Everything else off. However I'm good with the majority choice. As long as shot shaping stays advance :thumbup:

I prefer no putting grid, keeping zoom to aim as well as keeping wind mph. I can read the breaks of the green without the grid. It just takes a little bit more time and practice to get good at it.

+4 in the daily. I really feel like I am about to break through..just not quite there yet but what a blast!

Almost to the point of unlocking all the equipment I want in my bag.

One thing I wish was there is the ability to aim when you are squatted down at the green view.

I'm firm on no grid on the greens. I want to figure out what the break is and not have the game tell me. For me it lessens the challenge and the game becomes stale, I need that randomness of green reading to keep it fun for me. If you go back and read through this thread those who were struggling with this game are coming back and posting how much better they are improving now that there CAG skills are increasing and that the green reading is becoming easier.

I don't make many putts over 10ft and still shoot under par, what do you think those of us that do shoot under par at times with the grid off will do if we start turning different aids on?

If its decided that we are gonna change a few/some aids on its not really that big of an issue as there are CC's that cater to all our skills. At the end of the day majority should rule on this no matter how the vote ends.

This! I really wish they could add this option and also took off the depth of field perception where the camera gets blurry. Not a fan of it...

I finished +1 in the Daily tourney at Valhalla. I just couldn't make any putt that was for birdie. I made long par putts, but missed shorter birdie putts. I had 17 pars and 1 bogey. This is also the only course that I've played in real life, but apparently that didn't help much.

I played the first round of the 4 round tourney and shot -4. That was a fun round and it could have been even lower if I hadn't bogeyed 8 & 9. On the back I got hot and made a long eagle putt and then birdied the next 2 holes, to go 4 under in 3 holes. (easily the best stretch I've had) I think I was a total of 7 or 8 under (again, easily the most birdies I've made in a round this year), but a few bogeys brought me back.

Love the settings the way they are. I don't want the green grid. My golfer is now about a level 63 or so. I'm really having a lot of fun playing in the Country Club. I'd be down for a community night. Sunday night would probably work for me as well.

Turned in a nice daily round and finished our weekly. Man, the scoreboard for the weekly is all ****ed up. I should have a final score of +2 and it's got me at Even, plus the the leaders are all jacked up. It's weird.

You are close to a break through (if you have not already) trust me. I just finally shot a round under par (-2) for the first time since I have owned the game. I shut my xbox off and happily went to sleep.

I was yelling and jumping up and down like an idiot. My wife was looking at me from the bed room shaking her head and laughing at me.

Having a stiff shaft changed it all for me (lol, that didn't come out right)
