Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 Developers Provide Some Details on Upcoming Patch

The Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 development team has posted updates on the upcoming patch for the game. Some fixes are on the server side, which should occur on the next server update. The team is still gathering issues from the community and request that gamers having issues within the game to report them here.

Below are some of the fixes the team has confirmed to be corrected. There is no estimate on when the patch will be released, but it's good to see the commitment from the team to correct any issues. We will continue to update this post as the team adds to the list of confirmed fixes, before submitting to Microsoft and Sony.

Server Deploy on 3/25/13

• Connected Tournament payout issues
• Connected Tournament invalid score submissions winning tournaments
  This fix will prevent users from submitting a score if they disconnect in a connected tournament for more than 1 hole. You will still get the option to submit, and it will appear as if your score submitted, but when you check the leaderboard it will not have your score in it. It is a necessary evil of preventing users from glitching the system to win events. A further fix that will allow score submissions when disconnects happen during the round has been added to the patch and will make this function as designed.
• Connected Tournament total score adding newly submitted rounds to previous submitted rounds in total score
  This was merely a visual issue and wasn't effecting ranking in any way.

• Multi Round Tournaments leaderboard display issue
• Multi Round Tournaments payout issue
• Adjustment to how Tiebreaker Points are earned in Connected Tournaments
• Incorrect data for Club Members on Course in the event information module
• Several Play the Pros fixes
• Holes Played stat tracking
• Head to Head games with club members objective fix
• Power Pin not appearing on Equip screen

• Fix for H2H online issue where players get incorrect stats after completing event (including DNFs, etc...)
• Fix for Legends of the Majors multiple part challenges not working in rare instances.
• Fix to move aiming spin back to right stick if right stick is your hit stick
• Restored original follow camera for putting
• Fix the camera button from defaulting back to regular view when changing holes
• Fix for H2H cameras so they no longer pull back after a ball comes to a rest
• Fix for H2H opponent cameras not tracking the ball and instead staying behind the user
• Fix for Country Club stat "Double Eagle" always displaying "0"
• Fix for some Country Club stats not tracking correctly
• Fix for wrong stats in info module on the event select screen for events that have closed in Connected Tournaments.
• Fix for some career stats not matching front-end stats correctly
• Fix for some career stats that show incorrect information
• Fix for issue where country flags are incorrectly showing on club world ranking in-game banners
• Fix for shot preview arc not drawing completely when using shot preview pin
• Fix Strike Meter to always be 'sticky' for Move players
• Fix for Loyalty Bonus timer (currently display days, will be hours)
• Fix for user's score not displaying in the front-end leaderboard when submitting a score for play the pro event
• Fix for 'next hole' stats not appearing correctly in live tournaments
• Fix for score column showing incorrect information after playing multiple rounds in Play the Pros.
• Fix for playoffs sometimes going to night (if choosing to play night or live time of day, playoffs can still go to night)
• Fix for opponents sometimes not animating during H2H games.
• Fix for various issues that occur on the final round simulation leaderboards in career mode
• Fix for clubs resetting to default after having played a historic challenge in legends of the majors
• Fix for aiming info and other on-screen indicators disappearing at times.
• Fix for boost pins in H2H matches not working for users that did not set up the game
• Fix for eventual crash that would happen if game loads into demo mode when start is not pressed in time
• Fix for live tournament round screen not showing the proper time remaining in tournament
• Fix for incorrect display of XP Pin Bonus amount
• Fix for crash in golfer level purchase flow where coin price is incorrectly set to 0 coins
• Fix for mute user functionality where user becomes un-muted when a new user joins the session or a user leaves the session
• Fix for connected tournament banners not showing #1 ranked user in the banner
• Removed debug 3 hole setting from play now as this setting was never intended to be in final game

I've been playing with this this morning and it looks like we're good to go. Of course we will continue testing and if something changes I'll let everyone know, but this looks like it will be ok.

- H2H online issue where players get incorrect stats.
Players are receiving a DNF when they shouldn't among other stat issues. Our internal investigation that this happens when players button-mash the round exit menus. The current plan is to wipe stats when the patch is released so everyone can start fresh

- Legends of the Majors multiple part challenges not working.
When playing a multiple part LOTM challenge after just having viewed demo mode from the start menu will cause you to not be able to complete multiple part challenges. Current work around, reboot and press start immediately before starting that challenge making sure not to let the game go to demo mode on the press start screen

- Analog stick used to spin when using Right Stick analog swing.
The stick used for spin control has been switch back to the right stick for users that use that option to spin. This fix does not impact left stick users, as they will continue to use the left stick to spin the ball.

- Shot Preview doesn't draw the entire way on long shots.
When using a shot preview on a full shot it does not draw the entire way there. This seen on any shot of ~80 yards or longer.

- Switching your hit stick to the right stick
When switching to the right stick to hit the ball, you have to use the left stick for spin direction. it has been moved to the right stick

- Restored original follow camera for putting

- Fixed the camera button from defaulting back to regular view when changing holes
when pressing the r1/rb button to change your view, the camera will not continue to hold the view you selected for the entire round.

You might want to check back to that thread on a daily basis as Sean has updated it 3 times in 3 days and will continue to do so until they feel they have addressed the issues being reported with the game.....

I might have completely missed it but are they going to patch the issue where your score makes the cut but for some reason you actually get cut in career mode? If thats patched, plus the putting (which is listed above), im getting this game.

Honestly i would think something that is breaking a game mode would be more important than a camera. I might have missed in the post above though, didn't see it either.

Here's why the putting camera change isn't jeopardizing the cut line, or another other scoring or stat patch. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, Executive Producer, Sean Wilson posted the following in the official forum concering it:

"Let me be clear that I don't think this change is particularly risky and us doing it or not isn't going to affect the patch release date. I just wanted to convey that there was a chance it wouldn't happen if there was a bug. But the foundation for this camera was already in the game. Basically the code was pointing at a follow cam for putting and late in the cycle we moved that pointer to the presentation putting cam. The reason we did so was to fix something else that really probably should have just been let go as I'm sure nobody would have noticed it anyway.

Again, we aren't adding anything new. This camera is in the game. We are just calling it appropriately."

Here's some more specific information from Sean Wilson about the putting camera patch:

"The putting cam was a bit buggy in the demo, and there's also another bug where the camera will zoom back to the position where the ball was hit once the ball has stopped moving after the shot. That was fixed in the patch as well.

The new follow putting cam will look pretty much exactly what the current camera does when you make a 0-4 foot putt (approximately). There is very subtle jump slightly to the side, but the camera remains positioned behind the golfer.

From his response, it sounds like the like the patched Follow cam putting camera will be like the one used exclusively in the Augusta Practice Facility? I haven't seen that myself, but another user reported that this was what he was seeing at all times when putting on the practice green at Augusta, in the Historic Edition."[/i]

How about the part where he mentioned the fix for the zoom back out 'bug'? I didn't expect them to address it! I thought that zoom-out after finish was an artistic choice, but I'm glad to learn now that it really was a bug :o Those of you who have the Historic Edition can go to the practice putting green at Augusta and see how this new Follow cam putting camera will work, in game, with any length putt. I'd like to hear from you if you try it and get your reaction to how it looks and feels on a 40 foot putt, for example.

There isn't one. It is different than '13, but once you figure out how putting works, it is very effective.

I just don't get how the career stats bugs/glitches got past the QA testers when all they had to do is have someone play out a few careers to see if the simulation was calculating correctly. It seems weird that computer code is based on numbers yet they still couldn't get the scores to add up right.

I just don't get how the career stats bugs/glitches got past the QA testers when all they had to do is have someone play out a few careers to see if the simulation was calculating correctly. It seems weird that computer code is based on numbers yet they still couldn't get the scores to add up right.

i still havent seen that bug... My career mode works fine with the scoring... guess Im lucky?

i was sure i read that fast greens were not playing fast ??? is that not the case then ???
