Skill Upgrade FREEZE

So I can't seem to get into the skill upgrade screen without the game freezing up. Everything else seems to work just fine, but when I go into the skill upgrade area to boost my Power or Putting the game freezes. I've contacted EA but thought I'd raise the question here to see if I'm not alone.

it's only when I hit X from the notifications of having an upgrade... but I get the freeze too

I had it happen the first time I went in there, after I started my career, but every time I've gone in since (which, admittedly, has only been a few times, since I just started my career), it has been fine.

I came here to see if there is a fix for this. My game doesn't freeze (I can still open up the Xbox guide for instance), but the "please wait" message pops up and won't let me get to the point of actually editing my skills. I have to open the guide and back out to the dashboard and then start the game again. Doesn't happen every time, but enough to be quite frustrating.

I came here to see if there is a fix for this. Yup, same for me.

There is also a freeze if you try and "buy" an upgrade (with coins) using a secondary profile (e.g. I'm logged into the EA servers with mine, but my son is also playing under his gamertag. The game freezes if he tries to use his coins for an upgrade). About the same consistency as above: not every time, but enough to be frustrating (and also not a hard freeze).

I've had my share of random freezes guys but I just had something worse. 3 consecutive disc read game errors immediately after finishing the 3rd hole at Oak Hill.

I've powered off, unplugged, cleared cache and cleaned the disc (wasn't a bit dirty) giving another go right now.

Edit: happened again...unreal. I just got done giving M$ snd EA ANOTHER $30 bucks for the 14 pack...not very happy right now.

I've this happen to me twice today only. They need to get fixed.

Until then, try the following work around posted in the EA Tiger forums....

Do not use quick key or my skills...
go to Pro Shop...Upgrade Golfer(you)
hit cancel to upgrade by spending coin
this should solve your problem

me too; played 18 holes then tried to upgrade my golfer; says please wait at the bottom of the screen and it has the spinning icon; but i am not advancing to apply points to my golfer

Same here.

Level 80 golfer and this is the first time it has happened.

The last couple of days I have had issues when I first start the game and it just sitting at "connecting to EA servers" forever too. My connection is fine on my side.

Wondering if when you go to your skills, it contacts the EA server and it can't connect for whatever reason?

Yup, I am going to raise my skills using the method he described until EA addresses the issue.
