tw 14 sim mode difficulties- especially analog fade

Okay guys need help, sim mode is loads of fun and challenge, it is in fact manageable with lots of concentration, but very rewarding . I need help with two aspects playing out of the rough and the analog fade indicator.

Just general tips for playing from the rough, yardage compensations, do you catch flyers etc.., just anything you could add helpful please do.

Lastly I am losing so many shots in the rough or around the green because of the analog fade meter, who knows exactly how this works, I end up all over the ball rarely in the center of right below it where I want to be. I move it and it evaporates? Any help appreciated

For the "fade" part of the meter head to a practice round or the practice facility and just set it to "analog". Take some shots where you need to adjust it and get used to being able to see it at all times. It definitely take some time getting used to holding the RS while swinging with the LS. But seeing where the strike meter stays in conjunction with your pressure will help knowing where the meter is going back to "fade".

Removing the "fade" and keeping analog does not kill the multiplier that much so using it is not that big a deal unless you MUST play straight sim.

The rough can be a gigantic pain in the rear. Always take at least 1 extra club, maybe more for elevation, maybe add more loft if less. Assuming your you're using a CAG, apply skills to recovery early and often as being efficient out of the rough can kill or save your round. Unless you need to get over a trap you should try to place the strike metered dead center or a TINY BIT lower. If you need to stay under a tree then aim slightly higher, but you mainly want center of the ball especially for distance.

I'm sure everyone has their own preference around the green, but here's my $.02 on that. Out of the sand first thing is account for your degree above or below the ball and aim accordingly. Then adjust for the break in the green. Take your aiming marker a yard or so further than where they default (maybe more or less depending on distance to pin). Before hitting aim slightly lower than center, unless burried aim closer to the bottom and take a 3/4 swing back normal tempo and quick forward swing.

Again these are my own preferences but I tend to put the ball within 3ft majority of the time. I'd also say I've made as many chip in birds from the sand/rough as i have from putts. Good luck and I hope my rant made sense lol.

I personally hate the fading strike meter, everything else in Sim difficulty is great though.

One way to improve your strike meter "skill" is that you go into practise swing mode without touching the strike meter and then before you return to address you apply the strike meter. That way you get immediate feedback how you "guessed" the position of your right stick and you have little time to improve the sweetspot on your strike meter.

Yeah after some more practice work I have gotten much better with the fading strike meter, that said I am struggling to see how this emulates real golf. If feels like something put in just for the sake of making the game harder and a little bit gimmicky for lack of a better term. I love the direction the sim mode went but this feature I am not so sure about. I want to play full sim tourneys so is something I have to deal with, thanks guys for the tips

Yeah. Strike meter is completely artificial feature to make the game harder, but it also works.

I personally would take the strike meter away from the game and remove the swing path lines from that swing window during practise swings. I take like 3-5 practise swings before every stroke and it's pretty easy for me to "tune" my swing to hit those lines perfectly. Of course I miss the lines sometimes when hitting the ball but I think that this kind of system would be better than strike meter.

Other thing which should be removed is the exact amount of up/down slope showing in aiming marker when putting. Even without grid it is way too easy to put a long putt inside 3 feet in the game because I think it's too easy to hit the distance of a putt correctly. Trying a sink a 10 footer or 20 feet long putt is done really well in the game though. I really enjoy those putts...
