Careful. I happened to go there and read the review. Said something about connecting to the EA site to activate it, which can't happen because they no longer support the game. Might want to go with ebay, half.com, amazon, etc. You might pay a bit more, but at least you'd have a functioning game. Also, if you can't find it as a stand alone, they also put out an EA Sports 08 Collection.

It works from there. You just have to contact EA support from what I found out.
The game goes into it's built in (old) registering system which is of course dead.
EA support does something ( not sure what) that gets the game to bypass the old registration system.

I haven't done it but that's what the scoop says ...

I got this from Office Depot and all I had to do was purchase it, wait for an email with the download instructions. I never once had to connect to EA at all. I received the email with the download info, clicked the link and the game started to download. It was simple - and am very happy with the purchase

Thanks for posting this bluengold34; I ordered the download myself after reading it. I haven't played Tiger Woods on the PC since Tiger 06, and I'm curious to see what this has to offer. Tiger Woods Online was a total letdown and I'm hoping Tiger 08 will help pacify my occasional PC golfing urges. I'm a bit disappointed in Tiger 14 and this might help bridge the gap between now and the release of Perfect Parallel.

It felt funny ordering a software download from Office Depot. I had no clue how it would work. I'm a bit surprised that it's showing a delivery date of 6/3/13. I guess a live human has to process it and press the "go" button. I bet there's a ton of community mods I'll need to download to get some of the stuff to work?

You will absolutely love it. Go to coursedownloads.com while the game downloads - it's amazing how long that site has been around.

Yes! And it looks like there have been custom made golfers added by users, so that increases the offline aspect even more. I didn't expect to play online anyways.

Trying to research, but I can't find anything that allows us to customize the courses played during PGA Tour. Man, I was hoping that'd be figured out by now

I'm shocked at the number of courses that are available for download there and the frequency with which new courses are still being uploaded! I saw a link for my nearest PGA Tour course, which I've longed to play for years... Quail Hollow CC, and it looks to be a quality version (there are actually two different versions of it there). The custom season thing is something I'll have to explore. It depends on how the gameplay appeals to me if I want to invest the time in that, but it does look like it's got potential!

Yeah, custom season has a lot of work - and I don't own any of the required games to get it working.

I might bite the bullet and rejoin Clambaker's or another tour. This game is unreal. I downloaded over 200 new golfers, and am having a blast playing Merion with Matteo Manasero. Something about the game just feels more solid - and the way the ball falls into the hole is so much more rewarding.

I was having a hard time finding the add-ons section again, but glad I did. There's a mod to ghost the upper left corner real-time score box, which basically lets you leave it open perpetually.

As far as the golfers, ya, some are amazing (other likenesses leave a lot to be desired). But I grabbed the Arnie one and man it's nice (it might be from another version b/c he has custom animations after a drive).

Again.....anyone up for online? I'm "Gordo" on GameRanger. I use TrueSwing (no edge cheat) and no power swings or flop shots..... usually on advanced, but can play on expert if goaded (but I'm slower on that).

I'll have to explore the online through GameRanger? I set this up to be purely online, but then again I want to play a bunch of custom courses - so joining a tour might be the best move.

Pretty sure the tour guys use GR, unless they are successful with direct IP set ups.
