An inordinate number of balls stopping on the lip
Anyone else noticing this? It seems to happen to me 3/4 times per round, where the balls just stops over top of the hole in defiance of the laws of physics. I can understand this happening once-in-a-blue-moon, but IMO it's happening far too often.Tags: None -

Don't try to nail power dead on. Aim for your putt to finish about a foot passed the hole.Comment

Re: An inordinate number of balls stopping on the lip
i've played well over 1000 holes so far... i have seen 1, or maybe 2 (although i cannot recall the 2nd, just adding it in case i forgot), balls stop on the lip.
3/4 times per round... that sounds like an exaggeration coupled with some extremely poor luck. not meant offensively, but your results seem like polar opposite from everyone else's.NFL - RAVENS

Re: An inordinate number of balls stopping on the lip
I've noticed that it sometimes stops short whenever I forget to use extra putting power but it never just stops on the lip for no reason. (#Protip=Use more power when not putting downhill)

Re: An inordinate number of balls stopping on the lip
I've have several stop on the lip. Reason being, I've been playing Augusta on maxed settings... Long rough, fast greens, ect. So when I go back to normal conditions, I'm gun shy.
After running many putts 15 feet by, you'll understand my reasoning for leaving them short.Florida State Seminoles

I tell you what my dad use to tell me all the time when I was little and learning to play golf: "boy, you got to HIT the ball".Comment

I'm thinking more along the lines of Tiger's chip in on the 16th at Augusta a few years back. I'm not saying miraculous shots like that or that every shot that rolls like that should drop, especially to that extent because that's just not realistic. Just in general more shots that roll up to the edge with momentum towards the cup should fall, just according to the basic laws of gravity. Whether it's short, left or right of the cup as it gets there.
