Tiger 14 Tips and Strategies...

OK.... for our CC I started a tips thread that took me quite a bit of time.

I am going to offer this up to the community here as it is a real endeavor to communicate it and more will be coming. I am really interested what some of the Vets of this game think of it and how it was communicated....

More is to come on Approach shots.... Driving.... and then maybe compile some Sim tips from experts here for the end of it.... Most long term guys know me here, so they know there is no alterior motive for this. I simply spent a few hours on this and want the work to be used .....

Good tips, although I disagree with your first post about the controller. I don't think it is as important as you make it out to be. The whole swinging in a straight line doesn't matter. A TW dev said, don't remember if it was here or on the EA forums, it didn't matter if you did a figure 8 on the swing meter as long as you bottom backswing point and top downswing point were on the line. They said that is all that matters, nothing in between has any effect on the ball. I've proven this many, many times as I very rarely have a straight line in the game but, I hit plenty of straight shots.

Yo guru! Find my chipping thread a while ago and use that info to add to the tips.

Why do you talk like - 15 to - 18 is a bad score? Are you talking for one round? I don't think I really want to be so good that I hit a perfect shot every time... Even tiger doesn't do that.... I also never use putt preview.... Yeh I sometimes struggle on my career but it makes it more fun as it's a test... If I hit every shot perfect then what's the point?

Hitting -15 to -18 are bad scores only to players who like to restart holes when they get in a little trouble.

Several people in here have wanted to know how it was possible to shoot the scores that they see online.... That is the purpose of the Tips.... I respect people who play the game for enjoyment and do not need to compete at the games highest level. This however will give some of those nay sayers a bit of insight into the amount of information the top players go through to shoot -22 to -27 on Am or Pro..... In that world, -15 to -18 is a very average to poor score.....

I get it... I feel the same way about Madden when I go online and get Nano-Blitzed, going for it on fourth down, money plays, ect ect... Every Online Game has these kind of issues...especially sports games.... Tiger happens to be one I can play at close to its highest level so I love it.....

Well luckily there is online tournaments on higher difficulty levels too. On Sim difficulty the scores posted are actually very realistic. Only when there's no wind there's some low 60's posted but for example in windy conditions scores are much closer to par.

If I wanted to play scratch or worst golf, I'll spend the money to go to a real course. Tiger is all about being the best online.

Yeah. And the best are playing on Sim difficulty and typically best scores are around -5, sometimes closer to -10 when weather is calm(ish).

I enjoy Sim online tournaments where a round of 68 for example is a good result. I don't enjoy the arcade levels where leading score is -24 and there's 10 people with -23. Make a par on one hole and you're out basically...

Arcade style makes you play perfectly. I love knowing if I make one mistake I'm out. Makes me strive to perfect my game.
