    Links Skins Play

Anyone else feel like they always get screwed in this? The normal tour stuff I do great on, then in the Skins matches I'll hit a perfect shot and be set up to win a bunch of skins only to have the AI guys sink a 40+ foot putt or chip in to screw me.

yeah, that really turned me off of the single player...I like the single player tourneys and challenges, but the skins games/match play are totally bogus. It's like the computer will get a certain score (birdie, par) whether it means making a 40 foot putt, or an insane chip in, or even missing a easy short putt. They really need to work on that aspect of the game next year, it's like they programmed the computer to shoot within certain scores rather than make it random, yet competitive

I feel the same way. I posted this in a thread last month:

                </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Is it supposed to be this hard? I was playing in the rookie tour championship (skins vs 2 other guys) At least one guy would make a birdie on the first 5-6 holes. Sometimes a guy would make a 50 ft putt to tie me or the other guy would chip one in off the green. (Give me a break. I'd expect this on the Legend tour, but not the rookie tour!) I also noticed that neither of the morons would tie the other. If I was out of contention on a hole one of the morons would win. I'm glad the game is challenging, but sometimes I don't think it's fair. If these guys are this good on the rookie tour, how good are the guys on higher levels? (BTW I'm playing as an advanced player.) Anybody run into this kind of thing?

On every hole I play someone either hits a 50 ft birdie putt or chips in. They have even holed out from over 100 yards away before to get eagle. It pisses me off so much that I just don't play the skins anymore.

i don't know if this makes it better or worse but i try to purposely hit my approach shots on par 3's and 4's around 15 to 20 feet away. if you hit it close it seems more likely the cpu will sink something crazy. it could be my imagination though b/c it's definitely pre-programmed.
