My thoughts are that your expectations are too high. Back in the 90s playing Jack Nicklaus golf, no one was saying "Man, I wish this game was more 3D realistic". Don't let the technology of today ruin your enjoyment of an excellent game.

My problems are not with the graphics at all. The visuals are stunning. The game is still excellent. I'd prefer a simulation experience in terms of the PGA Tour and such now, but like I said it's still a great game

Small steps. This year let them perfect the stat overlays (hopefully patch will fix that up). I don't believe we will get any crowd or tour experience excitement til next gen when they have the ability to have all these extra non-gameplay things.

Behind the trees, the commentary is by far my least favorite part of the game.

HAHA yeah that one gets me every time. I've also heard "Par is a good score on this hole today," at least 100 times, but it's all good. The trees can sometimes make holes unplayable though

This is the first time I've played a golf game in the Tiger series where I feel like I'm playing golf at a professional level. The key to why I love this game is that unlike previous Tiger games where I'd typically just aim for the middle of the fairway or straight at the pin, I now find myself shaping my drives and approach shots due to the layout of the hole or the shape of the green and pin placement. I love the fact that I often feel forced to take a little off of my drives because the risk is too high of putting it way off the fairway and into the trees, water, sand, out of bounds.

But the complaints posted by the OP are very valid. The trees are by far the worst part of this game. I was hitting out of the woods the other day, and I was trying to hit a low shot to get under the tree in front of me. My shot literally hit the lowest leaf on the tree, and fell straight to the ground. It looked ridiculous.

And the tournament atmosphere definitely needs to be increased.

Overall though, this is such a solid game.

I'll be really interested to see what difference this is going to make for golf and especially Madden (RAM and bluray discs). It won't be fully maximized right away of course, but the sports games will tell a lot I think.

People's concerns are legitimate. It's not like this game hasn't had years to get a better feel with the commentary or cutscenes.

I seriously doubt coding in commentary or appropriate cutscenes acknowledging a win or hole in one or eagle or crucial birdie on the back 9 is taxing the current gen systems. Every other sports game does it quite easily and have alot more variables to work with since there are multiple players to deal with.

Showing a cutscene celebrating a win and lifting the trophy and having Jim Nance describing it can't be that hard to do. They did it for the Masters but that was to attract people to buy the special editions when it should be a basic staple of any sports game.

In past TW games you used to be able to choose from a whole bunch of cutscenes to show your golfer's reactions. We've lost all of those and simply have generic ones

Only things I would change are hazard drops, trees, and sand interaction. Everything else is really well done in my mind. The presentation and commentary stuff would be a nice to have, but overall, I just care about hitting the golf ball.

I'd actually love it if after winning the Masters you get the scene of Shooter McGavin stealing the jacket and running from the angry mob....with your GameFace instead of his of course.

I've been playing a lot of Tiger Woods 10 over the last couple of months, and I'd say it does a better job of creating a tournament atmosphere. You hear a distant crowd roar that's spatial enough to let you know it's coming from another hole, followed by a report from Scott Van Pelt and Kelly Tilghman making generic statements about changes to the leaderboard. It would be better if they could have said "Justin Rose just birdied the 13th hole to move into a tie for the lead at 17 under par", instead of "anytime you hear crowd noise like that, you know there's some movement at the top".

There are also more timely text drop-ins reporting on who's doing what elsewhere on the course. Again, it's not what I would think a current-gen console *could* do, but I think it's enough to demonstrate a bit of a regression from Tiger 10 to Tiger 14 in this category. I'm hoping Tiger 14's score and stat reporting are going to flow better and make more sense after the patch though. That will erase some of my current misgivings about it.

I remember that from 10....was a cool touch that I had been hoping will return. Perhaps for the next-gens.
