I know the feeling kamackeris76, but I wish more of them would see the settings *before* teeing off with me and realizing that they weren't playing what they assumed 'everybody' plays.... (sigh). It really gets old. I haven't played the game in two and a half weeks because I'd grown impatient with the camera production and the camera freezing in head to head play. With the patch tomorrow, I'll be back in it and will be looking for some tournament and simulation difficulty matches. I'll holla' at cha!

Just thought I would grab a quick few games before bed (it's 1am here)... Played a great 9 holes with one player (lost.... Damn iron trees) and 2 more quite before end of first hole.... Can't stand the easy difficulty settings these guys use... Where is the fun hitting every shot straight? It's not real golf!

I can understand the frustration..... It does get old.... The issue is the devs not changing the lobby and how it promotes your match and settings for 5 years going... Every year, we ask for just something that tells people in a better way what the settings are....

Do understand though, that person who joined your match has the same frustration in the exact opposite way. They do not see the fun in hacking the ball around for Double Bogey..... to use your words in their mouth.... Where is the fun in that. It is the reason there are multiple modes of play. It takes all of us to have a community big enough to support the game......

I apologize for pointing that out, but one of my true pet peeves in forums is the "I only" crowd.... Meaning, I only play this way and any other way is unfun, cheating, cheating, or bad form... That applies to Sim guys as well as Amateur guys.....
Tiger 14 (Xbox 360)... Total Online Play Country Club... We have a forum/message board at www.TotalOnlinePlay.com ...one central place for questions, comments, feedback, and general trash talk :) To join, go there and request a spot....

I appreciate it from their end too... There really should be a better matchmaking system like you say... Just gets rather frustrating when you don't have a lot of time on your hands

I also never understood why they can't tell you on the browse games screen what the game's settings were, in addition to having lobbies that were tailored for each of the various difficulty levels. I'm guilty of occasionally stumbling into an Amateur or Pro game unwittingly, after failing to realize that my custom game search terms reset to "All" after an aborted game. Whenever I've done this though, I always go ahead and play the game out, knowing I'm going to get my a$$ handed to me because I'm now playing a game for which I don't have the skill set to play well, nor an understanding of how to play at the level it's generally played if I did have the skill set.

Why do I go ahead and play the game after realizing I've made a mistake? It's because I know I'm there because ultimately, it was my own doing, but I think back on how frustrating it is when somebody quits on me because they don't realize they've joined a game not of their liking, so I take my lumps and hope I'll learn a lesson from it. I have gradually gotten better at avoiding this mistake. I can see how it would be easier to make that mistake coming from the Pro Amateur direction though because I think estimates show that 85 to 90% of the online multiplayer games are Amateur or Pro. It would be much easier to get conditioned to thinking in those terms if that's what you were use to playing.

I don't see it as they are scared of you anymore than you are scared of playing on "their" settings. Seems like no matter what settings I play there is always someone that birdies every par 3 and 4, and eagles every par 5. You'll probably thump most guys on "your" settings and you'll get thumped on "their" settings. There is more than one way to play this game.

I enjoy playing on realistic settings and I usually shoot anywhere from even to 5 or 6 under with deviation of plus or minus 2 or 3 on either side.

If anyone wants to play just let me know. My xbox id is Mebby Express.

Get thumped on "their settings", they play the easiest settings in the game!!! Putt preview, green grid, spin, easier straight shots, ball stike is where it needs to be at already...hahaha you do you get thumped with that help? It doesn't make us mad, it makes us bored.
