My Demo comparison of Links and TW

Please bear with me as I explain this post and my observations and ask a question or two...
I have an Xbox, and got the new Xbox magazine disk and tried out the Links demo.
I wasn't in a big hurry to try it out, as I'm not a big golf fan, and never liked the clicking 3 times to make the ball go, etc. Trying to click exactly on a line is more like work and stress than fun and relaxtion to me.
The new links demo was a delightful surprise, in that the golf swing is related to the analog movement and not clicking (reading the boards here, this is not new news, but it is to me).
I really enjoyed the links demo and it left me wanting to play more.
Beautiful scenery (thank you Xbox), and an actual sense of feeling like you are really playing the game, rather than just pushing buttons.
Now the experience and reading the posts here made me want to check and see if I had a Tiger Woods demo on one of my previous OXM disks, which to my joy I did.
I fired it up, and was glad to see a similar style of swing method and crisp graphics, etc. Along with the fantastic create-a-player editor that people are so happy with.
But I was shocked to see that on the Tiger Woods demo, I could hit a 2 on a par 5 on my first try.
I thought, ok, it's a demo, on easy mode... it was fun to do but I sure didn't feel like I earned it. Nor did I feel that I had as much control of my swings as I did in the links game.
The thing I can't understand is why they added so much to Tiger Woods in some visual presentations, yet the putting part of the game feels like they left half of it out? I felt no real control to putting, often hitting for much shorter than the distance than I appeared to be able to when pushing all the buttons and swing in proper sequence (as far as I know) but sometimes the put would only go half the way, and others go too far. And there was no real feeling that I my running the controls had any bearing on my putting, even when I played as Tiger Woods, himself, which really left me feeling frustrated with it.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Is it the demo disk in that, that part of the demo isn't as complete? Or is the putting game in Tiger Woods really of this poor quality?
The create a player is obviously awesome, and the graphics (while not on par with links for richness of photo-realistic quality) are still very good in Tiger Woods, no complaints there... but the control in driving isn't as percise, and the putting is way off to me.

    Anyone with any constructive comments?
I'm only playing the demos here, and am wondering if Tiger Woods' demo wasn't completed in the putting game, or if this is as good as it gets?

With this new swing method, I probably will be getting one of these games, (as soon as the wife say's it's ok) but even without playing on Xbox Live, and conceeding to Tiger Woods a much better player creator, at this point, Links seems to be a much better game for feeling like you are one-with-the-game-grasshopper.

With the whole TW putting thing, its because you have to change the distances if its uphill or downhill.

If I remember right, the putting in the demo for Tiger Woods had very flat greens... maybe only an inch or two up or down, so sadly, elevation isn't a factor... at least not in the demo.
