I don't know about everyone else, but to me, the Simulation mode is about as realistic as your going to get in video game golf.
I agree. It's also a pretty good representation of how your swing can be "on" one day and a little (or a lot) "off" the next. Sometimes I find myself making small little tweaks to how I move the stick on my controller in order to ensure that I'm getting a straight shot. And sometimes I find that it's easier to just adjust my aim to compensate for how I'm swinging on a particular day instead of trying to reengineer my swing.

All in all... pretty dang cool!

Exactly. i had a bogey-free, 7-under par round where i felt i couldnt miss, and the very next day i shot 5 over at augusta. this game is a game of streaks, just like real golf.

I think I've got this figured out.

The devs made each shot's "overswing" and "fast/slow" ratio different. For LONG shots (drivers and long irons) when you are a power hitter, there is NO SUCH THING as a "too fast" downswing. That's why it's impossible to do. PERFECT swing is equivalent to "as fast as you can possibly do it."

If you switch to a "control" golfer, you CAN go too fast on your downswing and add some distance at the expense of some accuracy.

But even with a power golfer, as the shots get shorter (ultimately the shortest being your putter) getting a bit too aggressive with your stick will result in hitting the damn thing too far. Putters are especially sensitive. Too much and you'll be in the red before you know it. Don't switch controllers.
