Re: Anyone Still Playing TW 13?
To be honest, I'm just grinding out these season playing what I now feel is a mostly soul-less game. The advanced shot shaping (diagonal swing), relegation to follow-cam (and perhaps the worst follow-cam production to date at that), and a twitchy, inertialess swing interface just deprive the game of character and soul.
I may start up another Tiger 13 club season after our current season ends in September at my club (Digital Sportspage CC). I'll PM you and post it here if I do. We should be good to go on Tiger 13 until April of next year!Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach Cutcliffe -

Re: Anyone Still Playing TW 13?
I'm still playing 14. It's just one of those games I can chill and listen to music. I'm having a decent amount of fun with it still even though there are so many things in this game that piss me off to no end. I actually just won my first tournaments the past couple days. The first was The Players and then I just won my first major in my 2nd year on the PGA Tour. I won the open at Pinehurst with a -12 which was 6 shots ahead of 2nd place.
No question the only reason I'm still playing this game is because of Sim Difficulty. This TW game would feel like any other if it were not in the game. I had my first hole out (from a long distance) yesterday in the final round of the US Open from 170ish out and I literally fist pumped when it went in. In the other TW games I've played I expected to do that so it made the game boring. I'm just having a lot of fun with the challenge. As I said though there are so many things I could list off that piss me off. Some of them are inexcusable when they have the ability to patch games.Last edited by bwiggy33; 07-30-2013, 09:56 PM.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Re: Anyone Still Playing TW 13?
It remains my favorite of the series, and I've owned them all. I'm playing it in career mode and local multiplayer, as its online functionality was ceased in 2011. I like its swing interface the best because it required more of a flowing rhythm for a good swing on full shots, not the twitch reaction-time test we've got now.
Tiger 10 also has the best Precision Putting interface of the series because it was fully proportional over an 80 foot range. Tiger 11 and 12's precision putting were proportional over a 120 foot range, making them overly sensitive for my tastes. It plays too easy using the "out of the box" settings though. Once I dialed the club tuning settings to the point that I'm at 18-20% sweetspot on woods and 22-24% on irons, I got a game in which I'm averaging 65% FIR and 60% GIR, and that feels right to me.
Finally, I think Tiger 10 has the best Presentation Camera production of the series. It tends to hold the golfer's swing camera view longer, overall, before cutting to a downrange camera. I would prefer that it hold that view for another 2 or 3 seconds before cutting, but it's the closest to my ideal presentation of the series.Duke Football? Re: Anyone Still Playing TW 13?
I've recently started playing again. I had stopped for a while because I was getting frustrated with the advanced shot shaping in the Country Club, but now that I've adjusted the settings to my skill level I'm having a lot more fun. I still have my fair share of mi****s, so I'm not shooting insane scores by any stretch of the imagination. I couldn't hang with the big boys. I don't know how you guys are so good on sim difficulty. Maybe my thumb just isn't coordinated enough.Comment

Re: Anyone Still Playing TW 13?
Nice to hear from someone discovering this treasure of a game. I can't state emphatically enough how important it is that those who either already own this game, or are just picking it up, realize how important it is to spend a little time with the club tuner (which roughly amounts to "sliders" in team sports games) and tweak the sweetspots to suit your desired degree of challenge.Duke Football? Re: Anyone Still Playing TW 13?
TW13 was really fun to play, and I'm still playing it because I love the play to unlock thing (I don't understand why people hated this. It was basically free DLC for playing the game.) The game still gives me a challenge on the highest of difficulty possible (minus the ridiculous AI changes where it makes players get -8 in a round of 20+ mph wind with rain, that's unfair as hell) I rarely win tournies, but I'm there enough to compete. I've probably choked away like two or three majors all ready. :/ I'm the new Sergio Garcia.NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers
