Just bought TW and Links some ?'s if possible.

I just bought both of these and love them both. I've looked thru the forums and had some questions on both if someone has the time to answer them.

On TW. This is fun game with lots of courses and lots of fun play modes (battle golf anyone?)How do you get a Callaway sponsorship? I've played thru a lot of the world tour and have gotten Maxfli, Cleveland Classics, Adidas, and Oddysey Golf, but no Taylor Made, Nike, or Callaway offers yet. I really want the Big bertha stuff. Which mode do you prefer, the World Tour the actual Season Mode?

As for Links, I love the realism of it. I've played links on the pc for years and have most all of the packs and courses that come with the pc version. How many courses are available for download on XBOX live? I don't have live yet, so I've got to get that. Is it fun to play online or is there a lot of cheese that goes on? Thanks for any replies.

The best part of online play for Xbox is that you can participate in tournaments without actually having to schedule with people. You enter your settings when you wanna play, they enter their settings when they wanna play and it just totals it all up for you, unless it's matchplay of course.

I'm yet to play a random person, so I'm not sure about cheese, but the game is great online. I just wish there was some depth to it for offline.

online is definitely the meat of links as good as it is offline. it's a blast to play in tourneys and follow things through xsn.

as for the courses there is one beautiful course you can get for $5 and a director's cut of a course currently in the game making hard as hell but even more realistic and a joy to play. that one is free.

For TW: World Tour mode is great. Best single player mode in any golf game. Don't get Links if you intend to play single player. It's horrible, and has some ridiculously bad CPU AI(each hole has a pre-determined score for the CPU, so no matter where the CPU ends up on his 3rd shot, if the hole was determined to be a 4, he'll hole out. Happens way too much). The problem with both games is that by the time you finish their single player modes, you've most likely built up your character to super-human skill levels, which enables you to shoot scores in the 40s and 50s in both games on their hardest difficulty settings. To me that's fine with Tiger Woods since it's marketed to be arcadey, but not so good with Links since it's touted as the "BEST CONSOLE GOLF SIM EVER MADE!". Neither are sims, neither are close to being a sim. If your intent was to get a sim, look elsewhere. If your intention was to get a fun game, Tiger will give you that in single player, and Links in multiplayer online. And yeah, battle golf is probably the best mode in either game. Stealing clubs is great. Fastplay on Links is addictive, but feels very ungolf-like since you never really see your friends shots.

As for Links, there's 2 courses available. Kapalua will set you back 5 bucks, and it's a pretty good course. Personally I'm sick of Hawaiin courses and courses in the desert. They're all too similar. There's also a freebie course which is just Ocean Mills all tricked-up to be made more difficult. It no longer resembles a real golf course though. More like a miniature golf course without the Clown's mouth. There's another course (you have to pay for it) coming mid-April. I have no idea what it's going to be. But so far the best courses are part of the original game (Aviara and GreyWolf).

Thanks patsfan. I've played Tiger more than links so far, because my wfie enjoys playing it as well(big surprise since neither of us actually play golf) We play a match and she beats my tail because she's played it lots more than I have. Between MVP and ECH I haven't had as much time for Tiger as I thought.
