You will cringe at 50% of my shots - I swear it's true. I also turned off the commentary for you, so all you will hear is the natural course ambiance.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

I cant imagine not being able to manually change fairway shape. I couldn't create a real course without itComment

You can change fairway shape - but not in the way you're hoping for. If you think you're going to bust out a pencil like option and draw manual shapes on the course, you are going to be disappointed.Last edited by bluengold34_OS; 03-09-2014, 09:18 AM.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

I don't care what you 'call' this course, it's probably the best course I've seen thus far in The Golf Club. It'll definitely be on my Favorites list and get repeated play. It'll bring you to your knees, but mostly for the right reasons. I hope that others will judge this course for what it actually is, not how much it looks like Bay Hill. It doesn't have a chance at the latter with this mountainous, rural theme in which it's set. Oh, I was 8 over par through 12 holes with two snowmen on my card... one of them was a four-putt green.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

I played the first 12 holes of it last night. The theme King Javo had to use is nowhere near the sub-tropic theme of Bay Hill, but the layout and general feel of the holes is there. You'd have to really be up on your local knowledge of Bay Hill to know what course you were playing from playing this course. OTOH, if you dropped it into a sub-tropical theme, with all of the sub-tropic trees and vegetation, and this one would be recognizable to all.

I can't stand the wait. Truly haven't been this amped for a game in awhile.Comment

Re: The Golf Club Closed Beta Impressions (Q&A Inside)
True, the themes are limiting. Only three of the initial five are currently available in the beta. The developers are very receptive to ideas for themes. The Golf Club desperately needs a 'parkland' them, followed closely by a seaside links theme, and then a tropical/sub-tropical them, just ahead of suburban/city theme.Duke Football? Re: The Golf Club Closed Beta Impressions (Q&A Inside)
I finished my round at Bay Hill this afternoon at 13 over par. I made the mistake of upping my resolution to 1600 x 900 (low detail) from 1366 x 768 (low detail). My frame rate went from 30-32 FPS to 24-26 FPS, and that proved to be a killer on the 13th green, where I six-putted the green because the putter position feedback wasn't coming fast enough. The first putt was a 36 footer, but I then proceeded to 5-putt from 12 feet!? You really need 30 FPS, minimum, to play this game anywhere near the way it's designed to be played, IMO. I knocked my approach stiff on 18 and had a three footer for birdie.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

This is what happens when you encounter a tough course, and lack focus while playing - judge away

Nice job Blue, thanks for posting the videos. Any chance you could post a video illustrating "replay" functionality? Also, shots from different camera angles?
thanks!Comment

Re: The Golf Club Closed Beta Impressions (Q&A Inside)
Totally slipped my mind too on 27 hole courses. This is a must as each time can be unique. My local course is set up this way and it is a blast. I think they could make an option for this and then you label each section then when you play your round you choose the front and back sections accordingly. Hopefully they can.Last edited by TheBleedingRed21; 03-10-2014, 10:58 AM.Comment
