The Golf Club setting itself up for failure

Just went over to TGC forums on their website and they have their moderators telling people asking when the game is going to be ready to go search for it themselves rather than asking. This is old stuff and it goes on with every new release of a game but the fact is this is not Madden, it will not sell itself.

Golf is not a major sport life football, basketball, or baseball, and it has a much smaller audience and its video game base is probably even smaller. TGC has no PGA license so it needs to do everything possible to lure in any gamer that is interested. Telling potential buyers go find the information yourself when it only takes two seconds to give a polite response regardless how many times you have to do it is just plain stupid for a new and unproven golf game.

If the developers don't start treating interested customers better this game is heading for "one and done"....just like the Blue Devils.

I imagine that they are tired of answering the same questions over and over again. It's the same thing that you will find here and all over internet boards when it comes to common knowledge. Telling people to actually take the time to look for information instead of replying to every single post the same way isn't going to break the game.

They don't have mods for the TGC forums - was it a developer that said this? I saw where some members were jawing at other new members and telling them to go look up the release date on Google, but in every thread I read I just saw the developers asking people to play nice and be respectful of each other. They have also requested that the conversations stay on topic about the game, or golf in general.

        This is funny.

Ive been on their forums chatting and not one time has any developer said that AT all.

It's the community members that are.

FYI, their forums don't have mods or anyone with power besides the developers, no need to put out false info.

The last comment made is irrelevant to the topic and could be seen as trolling as you are just trying to get responses to it.

I have to agree. No developer has said that at all. They have consistently said they don't want to announce a release date and then rush a product out to try and meet that deadline. They won't announce anything more than "Spring".

You're descibing several posters (not developers) as engaging mistreatment of other forum members/potential customers. And Grrrrrr.... the only thing you said that's true is the second part about my Dookies.... true but Grrrrr...

No mods on a sports game message board?? Yikes.

That could turn into the Sixth Ring of Hell after launch when they get the ball's dimple count wrong or don't have selectable colors for the golf bag.

Nope - they expect adults to treat each other with respect and display a certain level of maturity - novel idea, huh Dan?

Might want to get your facts straight before posting such a preposterous thread. I won't add to what others have stated, but there was one USER, not Mod nor Dev Rep that told the user to "google it". He later commented he was kidding. At the end of the day, it does become tiresome seeing new users to a forum post a whole new thread about a topic that is already being discussed. If new users would simply spend some time reading existing threads, they would not feel the need to post a new thread when the topic has clearly already been posted.....
