EA SPORTS PGA TOUR Screenshots and Why the Warship Course Crashing Isn't a Disaster

Check out the latest EA SPORTS PGA TOUR screenshots, along with the E3 trailer and first details, just in case you missed them.

Owen Good also chimes with his latest "Roster File" article at Polygon. Executive Producer, Brent Nielsen talks about the reasoning behind the Paracel Storm multiplayer map from Battlefield 4 making its way into the game.

Nielsen knew what he was in for by offering this hole for show at E3. There's no pleasing some people. But, he insists, the game's core and casual fan bases — practically divided into PS3/360 and Wii camps for about 5 years — have more in common than they think. "It's not that our core likes one thing and our casual consumers like another," he said. They want to approach the challenge in the same way, one is just willing to tackle a more demanding set of expectations than another. "Our research shows they also like a lot of the same things. Like fantasy golf courses.

"We haven't built one in a number of years," Nielsen said, "but they were always our most popular DLC courses. We don't feel like we have to build two separate games; it's one game that reaches that broader audience."

I have always hated fantasy courses never play them and would never pay for them. Even when they are bundled in packs I don't use them.

I'm sorry, but fantasy courses are for arcade golf games. There's a reason why people play Golden Tee.

They better have all of the courses on the disc. I'm not going to pay 60 bucks for a game with only 10 courses and the rest on dlc for another 50 bucks.

Does your research involve asking your 5 year old child what they like and then call it a day? Just have Michael Bay design the game. EXPLOSIONS!!!! MORE EXPLOSIONS!!!! And puppy dogs.

Let's pray that the paracel map course doesn't rubberband.

That was the most ridiculous moment of the E3. That was EA.

Pretty arrogant statements, that cant possibly feel more disconnected from reality to a guy who has been gaming for 30 years.

Because I so want a freaking Battleship crashing into the green while I'm trying to putt.

They are so disconnected themselves why would you associate your game wth a game that has so many issues and one of the worst launch disasters ever. Instead of levolution now we got hazardlution. I am not saying you can't have fantasy courses included but it shouldn't be the focus of a trailer trying to sell your game.

Just get "The Golf Club" and you don't have to worry about crap like that. Plus it will be cheaper and the Devs actually care about their product.

It seems like they can't understand there is a difference between fantasy/fictitious courses (i.e. realistic style courses with a little twist - excessive wind, narrower fairways etc) - which are okay - and 'fantasy' courses (i.e. this Battlefield one).

It's almost as if they've seen the positive response to The Golf Club and thought oh people want non-licensed courses, here is a course based on Battlefield. Just seems a complete 180 from the PGA Tour team, which to be honest just needed to build on what they've got, as gameplay wise it is one of the better EA Sports offerings.

I'm not the best at grading golf games, but I liked TW 14, especially the historical content (players, scenarios and courses). Too me just build off that without the Tiger Brand. Dive deeper into the presentation, gameplay, immersion, etc. Don't stray further away out into left field with this stuff.

A battleship slamming into the golf course. On fire. With stuff exploding and fighter jets. I don't even know what to say about EA's decision making anymore. This isn't real life.
