I am now hooked on the course creator. I spent a few hours getting used to all the options and then went on to spend around 4 hours creating one of my local courses. I got all the holes in place and shaped as they should be from online photos and memory and now need to work on all the details for them. The amount of detail you can create with these tools is amazing. Things will really shine once we get people in the community to create some of the real courses for this, but it is going to take time to do them right, so credit to those that take on that challenge.

Try using Google Earth to get things more dialed in. You can use their measurment tool to get things rather exact if you want to!


And I agree by the way - the course creator is fantastic. And people are creating some wonderful, wonderful courses with it. I'm just so pleased with where this game is going right now. HUGE potential for something great and groundbreaking.

Has anyone else had an issue w/ shot power? I have done a hard reset, gone offline, gone online again, and I can't seem to shoot the ball past 92%. I'm almost positive this is the maximum allowable % that its letting me hit as I never had a problem hitting 100% before.

It's definitely my downswing that is significantly slower despite not doing anything different... so frustrating.

Is there any customization with golfers at all?

I understand there are different body types and can live without seeing my face (though that is one thing I always liked about TW) is there a way to change attire?

Very little. Just a few models, different colors to the attire and that is all. Think you hit Y on the screen when you select players to go into the customize golfer screen. They have mentioned updating this in the future.

I'm a ps4'er so I haven't yet had a chance to play around with it.



Another question though for you or anyone, do they offer yardage books or anything like that or is it just the standard one yardage amount to the hold from where you are at?

Looking at the pin will tell you the exact yardage, however your club only gives you carry info and does not factor bounce in it's yardage.

I just played Stone Reach Golf Links which is a good representation of Pebble Beach.

Murky Hollow CC is a difficult course. Very US Open-ish. Definitely a challenge.

Still very impressed with the game. Two fantasy football drafts Friday and next Sunday (8-31) will limit my time with it.

Also Khelis, for drives, press B (O). You will get yardage markers on the overhead view of the course, which really helps when using the driver is not ideal.

Is there a way to get an overview of the hole?

This button gives you like an overhead map like view of the hole with yardage markers for 300, 250, 200 to give you an Idea of what kind of club you can use for your planned landing area. If that explains it better.

Well.. for those that think this game is easy to shoot under par.. MY OWN COURSE just kicked the living crap out of me.. I thought I made it easy... I was wrong. I only hit about 3-4 fairways.. I posted it in the OS Community Course thread if you guys want to check it out and want a challenge. Not the most beautiful course, but man is it fun to play and try and master. It is in BETA so I got to fix a few greens, tee boxes, etc..

I've had this game since early access on the PC, and I have to say even though I get my butt handed to me, I'm enjoying it a lot thus far.

I'm finding it pretty difficult to gauge the % of power when it comes to swings/putts, but I'm sure I'll get better.

The visuals look great and hopefully the course creator community is really active. I actually also really like the no frills announcer, I think they did a really good job with that.

Fun game, assuming of course you like a challenge. Tiger Woods Golf this is not.
