Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
I just realized, I'm on the PC - and most are on consoles. If I create a Tour it would be PC only, right? Sorry, I'm new to this.Comment

Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
I'm not really convinced no wind meter is "realistic". In real life, you can feel which way the wind is blowing. There are also adequate visual cues from foliage. Anybody who plays regularly can tell the difference between 5 mph wind and 12+. TGC doesn't even really give you a way to tell whether consecutive holes run in the same direction, back and forth, 90 degree angle, etc. If there was an option to give the direction and a descriptive of the wind (mild, gusty, etc) rather than the exact mph, that would suffice in my opinion. Now playing

I never got an answer to this. I started a private club for us called OS Real Golf - but it was on PC, so not sure others can join if you're not PC.Comment

Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
That's the thing, I'd like to play with green grid off, but in this game it's just not possible to read the greens correctly. I enjoy a challenge, but 3 putting from 4 feet away is not fun. Maybe no scout cam would work and add that extra challenge.PSN - miacanes12Comment

Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
I agree. I played a few rounds with everything OFF (wind meter, scout camera, approach camera), except for green grid. I kept green grid ON. In my opinion, this was the best way to play. I have a very difficult time reading the greens without the grid. I found this way to be most realistic for me. I shot -4 in one round and +1 in another round. Much better than shooting -10 every round with no challenge.PSN: trex187

I think it would definitely raise score more realistically, especially from those scores I am seeing on TGC right now.Comment

Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
Good posts ITT. A couple quick comments:
Modded controllers - I totally agree. WTF is the point of that?? Why not just have a WIN button. You push it and YAY!! You won! Or better yet, NOT have a Win button, and just imagine you won, and save everybody the time. (eye roll)
Unrealistic scores - (shrug) Some people are just really good. Although I DO think that those scoring the 40s are cheating, plain and simple. BUT - ultimately, I just don't care what others are scoring. Like real golf, the fun is in the playing of the game, against the course, and I (and my previous scores) are the only standard I just myself against.
There are players WAY better than me, plain and simple. I am just amazed by this game, and *really* enjoy checking out all the amazing courses people create. My Favorites list is growing every day, and at this pace, I'll never be able to go back and play some of them!Comment

That's a real good idea. I might have to try those settings as well.Comment

I love having the scout and approach camera off. Nothing like hitting a drive around a dogleg, and adjusting your neck to see where the ball goes.Comment

Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
I am going to be documenting my TGCtour progress on YouTube - I think I'll be the only one who actually uses less aides (aim and green unfortunately, I'd like to disable AIM aide in the tour, but doubt it's possible).Comment

Re: Just a personal opinion and observation.
I just created a tour on the PS4 with Greed Grid On, and every other aid off.
Search for: "The Purist Open (Season 1)"
12 Events, The Duration is 120 days.
Green Grid On, and every other aid off truly is the sweet spot. Thanks for sharing that dpc134.Comment
